16 NPCs and their haunts in Sigil, the City of Doors.

Ash Yggsdottir

A dryad cleric of Heimdall with multiversal ambitions, and member of the Society of Sensation, often found within her greenhouse meadhall—The Golden Tongue.

Azetaa the Vitrifier

A half-dragon preservationist, who stays guarded about her mysterious past in Acheron, and member of the Fraternity of Order, most often found in her workshop within the Guildhall Ward.

Captain Vuxarik

A cocksure bearded devil, who has turned stag on the rigid order of the infernal legions for a place among the Fated, roaming the Multiversal Mall and Entertainment Complex with their gang of breakaway lawful-aligned creatures - the Outliers.

Chef Savory Thoughts

A dedicated, charitable rogue decaton modron, and member of the Bleak Cabal, who runs the renowned restaurant The Remouillage Palate, a secret safe haven for other rogue modrons.

Elxaris Ermine

A rambunctious half-elf thief and anarchist, with a bone to pick with the Fated. A member of the Hands of Havoc, she operates with her band of thieves from a Wreaker base beneath the Mustelids’ Court Tavern.

F(x)=A(1+r)x AKA “Fixx”

A solipsistic modron who sees all of existence as an extension of their own mind - and sorting through the refuse of all of Sigil as plying their own memories. They dwell in the Sanctum of One’s Mind—known to most as Undersigil’s largest rubbish heap.

Isambard Charnelle

An avant garde human artist and member of the Hands of Havoc, pioneering “portmortalist” artworks from a gallery set up in a former Duster funeral parlor—The Gilded Vulture.

Jerren “No Body” Van Niemand

Once a famed Waterdhavian investigator, until his untimely  disintegration by Manshoon. Now a member of the Heralds of Dust, whom he serves as an investigator in the morgue of Pathos, ever with an ear to the ground for word of his attempted killer.

Librarian of Lost Things

The Library of Lost Things, a place where one can learn the most esoteric knowledge, for a price, paid to its unknowable keeper. While they may appear as an elderly elf, this is one of many guises for this seeker and protector of knowledge of that which is lost.

Locke Steppestrider

A charming, sharp-witted bariaur known as the merchant of doors, for the assortment of portal knowledge and collection of gate keys that she has to offer. While she roams the Market Ward, those who search for her know to look in the alleyway behind Rakar’s Magic Tattoo Parlor.

Miikaah Knul and Gressala Irvola Voyd

A duo of no-nonsense githzerai detective and his former nemesis, a cut-throat vedalken. Now both in service to the Fraternity of Order, they operate the Knul & Voyd Detective Agency, on a street straddling the Market and Guild Wards.

Rattlebolt

An elderly coin-operated modron assassin, discarded by the Harmonium and reprogrammed into serving the Mercykillers. When not out hunting for his targets, he can be hired from the Balor’s Baubles, a curiosity shop where he rests among the shelves of trinkets and oddities.

Raziah

Resplendent and devious, a sibriex who has reshaped their body to their ideals of beauty through the powers of fleshwarping. A member of the Society of Sensation, they trade secrets, memories, and experiences with those who visit them in the Godless Gallery, and for some, even a chance to be remade.

Szendara

A vivacious tiefling with a flare for the dramatic and member of the Society of Sensation, who runs the Theatre-de-Verte—a venue for their burlesque shows, where Szendara listens keenly as enraptured audiences unknowingly spill their deepest secrets.

Vezrovol

Equal parts miserly and sycophantic, the wastrilith Vezrovol manages a luxuriant bathhouse, the Pools of Apsu. To bathe in pools drawn from across the multiverse, Vezrovol charges steep fees, having discovered that wealth is a far more dreadful power than any demon’s might.

Also included are mechanics to track your characters’ relationships with the NPCs in this book, with which gaining a character’s favor can earn their trust, and often more unique boons, while gaining their ire can make life in the cutthroat streets of the City of Doors even more perilous.

All artwork within this book is lovingly created by humans.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
