Ezmerelda's Guide to Ravenloft is a 5e supplement that serves as an expansion to Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, including new player options and Domains of Dread. Each of these domains provides you with detailed lore, backgrounds, locations, NPCs, adventure hooks, a map and detailed information on their respective Darklords, including their stat blocks.

What's Included

This beautifully laid-out module includes:

  • Twelve new and fully-realised Domains of Dread.
  • Over thirty new monsters
  • Four new special lineages, such as the Lycan and the Shade
  • Six new subclass options, such as the Path of the Witchblood Barbarian, the Dread Knight Fighter, and the Blighted Sorcerer
  • Ten full-colour maps, including versions with and without labels, as well as versions suitable for virtual tabletop environments;

Domain Summary

  • Amarium. Once a Domain of Delight of the Feywild, Amarium was plunged into Ravenloft by the evils of a treasonous fey prince and his desire to become a true king.
  • Dromeria. The Dread King Raghar sits upon the throne of Dromeria and he must fight for the immortality it grants him against the noble houses of Dromeria.
  • Dutrong. A dying land where even the most decadent vampires face decay and starvation. The Baroness Belépiné must secure her nation before it collapses forever.
  • The End. A domain of unceasing torture, where even the cruellest Darklords do not deserve to be imprisoned.
  • Gaol. The never-ending show of one Martimus Jack. He seeks total control over and total immersion within a story of his own making.
  • Isrige. Queen Hekkolda brings endless ice upon the dying land of Isrige, causing untold suffering among its people.
  • Malbor. The first gulthias tree, origin of all blighted creatures, is the eternally-rotting prison of Gulthias of Nightfang Spire.
  • Requiem. The catacombs of Ravenloft, where the Dark Powers store things they do not wish recovered. Its Darklord, Gravedigger Garo, is perhaps the least deserving of all Darklords.
  • Rotwald. The realm of Rotwald is one of relative peace, permanently in the shadows of its eponymous forest. In these woods lurk terrible monsters.
  • Scelus. The city of Scelus is a cruel place, where violent gangs own every building and every business. Beneath the surface, a terrible evil festers.
  • Sgáil. The Lindis Sea is a necessary evil for the people of Sgáil. It is the source of many of their meals, but in its depths lie the corpses of thousands it has claimed. In the deepest depths, an imprisoned Elder Evil lurks.
  • Winterhall. A boarding school where children and young people are brutally pitted against one another in the vain hopes of being freed.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
