Doomed Forgotten Realms Underdark Volume Two: Wrath of Zuggtmoy

Imagine a world where Tiamat was summoned successfully. Where the Princes of Elemental Evil tread unfettered. Where Demogorgon prowls the Underdark with the Wand of Orcus, leaving an army of undead in his wake. Where the storm giants have been cast to the bottom of the Ordning. Where Baldur's Gate has been banished to the Nine Hells. . . .

Imagine a world where good has lost and evil prevailed.

Demons and devils rule below. Menzoberranzan is a ruined shell of its former self.  Blingdenstone is now ruled by the Pudding King and his gelatinous Royal Court. And every day more and more creatures fall under the sway of Zuggtmycos, the newly empowered Demon Queen of Fungi.

Welcome to the Doomed Underdark.

Venture Beyond

Wrath of Zuggtmoy is a direct sequel to Reign of Rot, although it is designed in such a way that it can be easily run without Reign of Rot. In it the characters’ quest to finally defeat Zuggtmoy takes them from the Underdark into the depths of Wildspace and beyond. Wrath of Zuggtmoy is designed to take the players from 7th to 11th level. This product does not need to be set within the Doomed Forgotten Realms and can be used to enhance any fifth edition campaign.

For those bold enough to play Wrath of Zuggtmoy in its entirety they can expect to:

  • Team up with the legendary Tasslehoff Burrfoot to explore a Doomed version of the planet Krynn!
  • Play a dangerous game of cat and mouse within the ruins of a flying fortress!
  • Sail the Astral Seas of Wildspace with the newly promoted Rear Admiral Krux!
  • Race against time in an abandoned space station infested with evolving aliens!
  • Forge an intergalactic alliance with thri-kreen, plasmoids, and dohwar to battle the world-killing death skull, Zuggtmycos!
  • Go toe-to-toe with the Demon Queen Zuggtmoy for the fate of not just the Underdark but all of Wildpsace!

PURCHASER
I'm enjoying this series. Very clever. Very well done. Bravo. Upon looking at this particular adventure, I can't help but furrow my brow when reading, "Go toe-to-toe with the Demon Lord Zuggtomy" with a party of level 11's. I'm curious to see how this plays out. Nevertheless, I'll be purchasing this to find out. Keep up the good work.

Hi Peter, we appreciate the kind words and trust!

You're right that fighting a demon lord at level 11 is probably a bit ummm unorthodox. Our rationale is:

1) The intention is for this to be part of a level 1 through 20 adventure path. Rather than kill all of the demon lords at the very end of the adventure path it seemed like it would be more satisfying for the players to slowly work their way through the demon lords, one at a time.

2) In this specific adventure the characters need to recruit a small armada for assistance and then drop a literal nuke on Zuggtmoy -- which, to her, is merely a flesh wound! However it is a flesh wound that weakens her enough that she can technically be beaten by a party of level 11 characters. That said it should still be a challenging battle and we have a stat block for Zuggtmoy that is much more tactically satisfying than the one provided in Out of the Abyss. In 5th edition 11th level characters are no slouches!

3) Most...See more

I mean, you say that but as a DM that ran Out of the Abyss, I can tell you a party of level 11 characters can defeat Juiblex if they know what theyre doing.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
