So Many Slaad - A Slaad Monster Manual

In the early days, shortly after Primus attempted to impose order upon the chaos by sending the Spawning Stone to the plane of Limbo, a venture that ultimately failed, the stone found itself ensnared within an elemental storm. This tumultuous encounter tore a small fragment from the stone, setting it adrift in the inky void of Limbo.

Over years, the fragment meandered through the chaotic expanse, colliding with other rocky entities. Fuelled by the plane’s capricious nature and the residual magic from its original creation, the fragment assimilated these rocks, swiftly expanding in size until it became what it is today. This newfound magical essence coursing through the fragment engendered life, giving rise to it’s own variation of Slaad, distinctly different from those birthed by the original Spawning Stone.

The fragment’s prolonged journey through Limbo and its merger with microscopic life on the encountered rocks perhaps accounts for the intriguing diversity among the Slaad spawned from this second stone, although the exact cause remains elusive
