The Giant Guide to Xen'drik

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Explore the secrets of the Shattered Continent of Xen’drik in this giant expansion for the Eberron campaign setting. The Giant Guide contains over 500 pages of content, divided into a main Setting Guide, a dedicated Bestiary, and a Character Options Guide for players. Ancient archfiends, ruined empires, lost treasures, and rising powers all await discovery for those brave enough to explore within!

This work rebuilds Xen’drik from the ground up, with every page designed with adventure in mind. The ruined empires of the giants of old scar the land with rampant magic, their lost treasures a dangerous temptation. Adventurers might delve into the frozen halls of the frost giants of Ix Il’ar, swim through dreams and nightmares in the ruins of the Cul’sir, or trade blows with the multi-armed warrior giants of Hekaton. Between lies a rainbow of ancestries who call Xen’drik home. Fire-worshipping Súlatar drow, ‘Titanshell’ thri-kreen, spiny lizardfolk, and cyclopean goliaths are just the start. As the indelible scars of the past clash with the needs of the present, the legacy of the ancient giants shapes the course of history to this day - and with evils new and old stirring across the land, heroes are needed now more than ever!

The Giant Guide includes:

  • 13 ancient Giant empires to explore, each destroyed in the ancient calamity of the Shattering. Each empire’s capital is detailed as a unique mega-dungeon to explore, complete with plot hooks, suggested enemies, adventure sites, and new spells and items to unearth.
  • 92 stat blocks, including mechanical reworks of D&D’s giants to make them more unique and interesting to fight, alongside 11 empyrean titans, 4 CR27+ archfiends, and 8 Monsters of Legend to hunt through the wilds.
  • 14 subclasses, including the mutagenic Patchwork Blade Fighter, aerial Wind Runner Ranger, and titanic Giant Soul Sorcerer.
  • New ancestries, feats, dark gifts, Battlemaster maneuvers, Rune Knight Runes, and spells - including terrifying Artifact Spells and Maneuvers of awesome power.
  • 7 detailed cities and settlements to use as adventure bases, each with its own unique location and culture. Soar through the clouds in the sky city of Kul Lerek, explore the peaceful trading post of Blackgrove Refuge, or walk the streets of the monstrous undercapital of Vralkast.
  • 34 adventure locations with their own risks, encounters, and rewards.
  • A bevy of GM tools, ranging from tables of names, to random encounters, to detailed villains, and unique environments to explore!

Something appears to be bizarre with the page numbering, if I'm at EX58 "The Reality of Dreams" we have page 44 in the bottom left, then I'll scroll down two pages to QL59 "Legacy of the Quori" and I'll be at page 60 in the bottom left. When page numbers are referenced within the text do they refer to the bottom left number or the XX## number tracked by the PDF?

Huh, that's strange. It seems like the automatic numbering glitched out for pages 57 and 58. Thanks for letting me know. The page numbers and tracked page numbers should be the same otherwise (i.e, for me, PDF page 55 has page number 55 as well).

Hey, will there be a POD option at some point in the future? Thanks!

Hi, unfortunately there won't be a POD option. The requirements to make it eligible for POD are very precise, and it's very difficult to do without a proper art budget, as every piece of art needs to be of an appropriate dpi and color type. Essentially, I would have to redo the entire layout and commission art pieces that I simply can't afford as a solo writer and designer.

Hi, thank you for the interest - unfortunately, converting it to Roll20 isn't something I currently have planned. As this is project is mostly a solo fan project, I don't really have the skills or funds to make the conversion.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
