Unravel the mysteries of Ravenloft in this dread adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.

Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind’s howling increases as he turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.

Curse of Strahd is produced by Wizards of the Coast. It was written by Chris Perkins, edited by Kim Mohan and Jeremy Crawford, and art directed by Kate Irwin. The adventure incorporates material from the original "I6: Ravenloft" adventure, as well as new story content created by Tracy and Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins, Adam Lee, Richard Whitters, and Jeremy Crawford. Written in consultation with Tracy Hickman and Laura Hickman, creators of the original Ravenloft.

Is it possible to read the book on a tablet using the browser without having an Internet connection? Like it's a pdf and underline or take notes?

Pardon my French, but Fark Roll20. Right in the corn hole. With a dry corn cob. Eagerly awaiting the RE-release of the CoS PDF here on DMsGuild. That's right, I said re-release. WotC released it here the day it came out, then changed their minds and pulled it back down. I'd like to see an official version for FoundryVTT someday.. but Roll20? Not going to happen. Not now. Not ever. I only support companies that support their customers. WotC is a necessary evil, since they own Ravenloft and Strahd.. but that's as far as it goes.

I think you are going to be waiting for some time. WotC seems to have a weird contempt for releasing current non-AL content as PDFs, using DnD Beyond as its main platform for digital releases.

Yes indeed, they posted and pulled the CoS PDF file the day it released.. back in 2016 I believe? Well before DnD Beyond was a thing. I've been waiting for it to be put back here ever since. Now they have this Roll20 online crapware, but still no PDF. @#^!@%#......

I can say this is one of the best buys for Roll20. Nothing compares at this price.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
