The Possession of Gloam

Hi Mark! I specifically made this to be a difficult adventure, potentially too much so. The group I play with has very difficult encounters in all campaigns and I felt it fit well with the horror theming. Additionally, I believe one-shots should have an added difficulty to other campaign styles and character death should be a very possible situation as it adds to the excitement. However, to tone the encounters down I would remove the cult fanatic from the first encounter and remove the highest-level spell slots of the bosses while also removing a chunk of Hit Points.

This is the first adventure I've attempted to write up so I'm willing to admit I may just yet be able to balance encounters correctly, or have had my view of difficulty skewed by my current group. Either way, I appreciate the comment and would be interested to hear if you had any other suggestion which I could make to this adventure and then release a second version. Thanks for reading.

Hi again Mark. I've just taken a quick break from the current project to apply a temporary fix so people aren't downloading this expecting the average level 2 one-shot. To do this I've changed the expected level to be 4 or 5 which should hopefully make it a more enjoyable adventure. Thanks again for the feedback. I will look back on my previous work as I go and make more detailed updates as time goes on and gain a better understanding of balance.
