This map pack for TTRPGs is specifically designed for encounters within the Tyranny of Dragons adventure module. These 7 maps cover the first chapter: Greenest in Flames. These maps include 2 Greenest Town Streets that loop so that they can be used for multiple encounters,  The Temple of Chauntea, The Mill, The Keep, The Old Tunnel, and The Stream Bank. These maps come with and without a grid.

The 2 Greenest Town Streets depict when the players first arrive at Greenest during the dragon attack. This takes place at night time with only the moon and the flaming buildings illuminating the player’s surroundings. These maps loop in both directions so that you can display one after the other to emulate the characters moving down the street towards their destination.

The Temple of Chauntea shows the encounter of the characters attempting to save those seeking sanctuary inside the temple. It includes the battering ram outside the front doors, the flaming hay bales at the back door, and the massive cloud of smoke that is obscuring most of the back of the building.

The Mill depicts the description provided in the book: “The mill is a simple rectangular barn, about 40 feet long and 20 feet wide, with an attached, exterior office. The long side of the building away from the stream has barn doors and a two-part door, and the two short walls have windows. Inside, the main floor is dominated by a massive stone grinding wheel driven by a water wheel in the stream. The upper half of the barn is a loft where milled flour is stored. The loft can be reached by wooden stairs along the east wall or by using the ropes and pulleys that house bags of flour up and down through large openings in the loft floor.” Small fires can be seen outside that can easily be put out.

The Keep’s shape and design are based on the image of the keep on the Greenest map provided in the book. The path leads to large doors as the main entrance to the keep. The Sally Port is located on the south wall to the left of the tower. The walls feature racks of weapons and barrels of arrows for the soldiers stationed up there.

The Old Tunnel is a damp, cobweb ridden, dugout tunnel that leads to an output pipe to the stream. Before the characters can make it out this output pipe they must make it past the locked iron barred gate. This is made to appear like a sewer outlet to deter potential enemies from entering.

The Steam Bank features plenty of hiding spots for those pesky cultists to ambush the characters, or vise versa. Lots of foliage coverage, the hill that The Old Tunnel exits out of off screen, and of course the stream itself with stones characters can jump across the stream on really make this encounter more than just ‘next to a stream’.

These maps were made on Inkarnate.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
