Rary's Compendium of Madness is the 5.5e team's second foray into significant homebrew within Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. Our previous work, Tenser's Terrific Tome of Talents, was a compendium of expanded character options for every single class as well as many variant rules. This guide similarly introduces creepy new subclasses, classes, rules, and spells for players to experiment with and enjoy. It serves as both a DM's guide and a player's reference for dozens of new expanded options for playing more spooky and unique characters.

Additionally, Rary's Compendium of Madness is the team's take on Psionics, an alternate spellcasting mechanic which allows players to cast powerful spells using only the strength of their mind. This was an idea from previous editions which Wizards of the Coast recently released within 5th edition, albeit at a severe departure from its previous mechanics. We decided that developing our own approach would allow players a chance to play these reimagined classes in a balanced and fair way.
