  • Printable PDF 8.5x11 Letter sized
  • Printable PDF 11x17 Tabloid sized
  • Printable PDF A3 sized
  • 100ppi JPG images with grid
  • 100ppi JPG images without grid
  • 100ppi dd2vtt files without grid
  • dungeondraft_map and asset files

I have tried to make maps that are:

Complete. Every location in the campaign that does not have a published map is included, as well as an alternative battle map for Escape from Vogler.

Detailed. All maps have a high level of detail, whether it is the furniture, personal effects, footprints, debris, weather, or lighting.

Specific. All described details are included in the maps, where they would be visible from a top view.

Versatile. All maps are available in multiple formats including a Universal VTT format that can be imported into several popular virtual tabletops with the lighting, walls and doors intact. The original mapping files are included so that you can make changes for your own campaign.

Useable on your tabletop. All maps are printable with a 1-inch grid onto multiple pages which can be joined to create larger maps.

Click 'Full-size Preview' under the cover art to see the map list and a larger preview of every map.

Hey Tessa,

I may be missing it, but is there a printable full scale map for the Battle of High Hill? I really love not having to stop the session and draw the maps for each encounter. thank you for all your hard work!

Hi Caleb, I rarely re-create published maps (with some exceptions) as copies of those maps aren't allowed on DMs Guild. I have to substantially change them and that's not always worthwhile.
What I do instead is crop and resize the published maps for ease of use, you can find them all here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hx_lSRbBH6lmpH0FA2bllWrXQNAG67SM?usp=sharing
These should be easier to print e.g. with a tool like Poster Razor or Rasterbator.

Hi! I'm not seeing any of the free maps in your google drive. I only see the prelude maps.

Purchased the map pack by the way. Stellar work!

Hi there Francisco!

The prelude maps and cropped and resized versions of the official maps are all that I've done for Shadow of the Dragon Queen. If you were hoping for recreations of the official maps I've only done that for Frostmaiden and Witchlight. For Spelljammer and Descent into Avernus I created alternate maps to use instead of the official maps, those are in the map packs. I moved away from re-creating official maps because they've gotten better and it's very time consuming.

No but also yes, 3-13 Escape from Vogler Alternate is the one that I did because I had already done the docks and just needed to set them on fire.

Hi there Michael. '7-11 The Citadels Destruction' is intended for that, it is the plaza directly outside and south of the Basion.

Hi, the maps include the kalaman castle courtyard and the battle at council massacre?

Yes both. The council chamber map works for meetings and then later you can let plays through the back door and the passage down to the crypt is there. You can click the full size preview and look at every map.

its great that it separates by chapter but before I purchase I have to ask, how descriptive are the files, does each map indicate when they are meant to be used or do I as the DM have to figure that out? maps look great btw!

Hi Matthew! The map files are named for the book sections and numbered by chapter in the order they appear in the book. You can see the file names in the Full-sized Preview.
I also have a google drive where I keep extra stuff, including a list of the maps, creatures, and xp. If a particular map is confusing you could look at that and see what creatures are supposed to appear on it.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hx_lSRbBH6lmpH0FA2bllWrXQNAG67SM

And of course there are plenty of random encounter maps where I've named them for specific encounters but you can mix them up however you please.

Hello, Tessa, Boy have you been busy! So many new map packs and, obviously, I'm laggin'. My first of your packs was CotN which was a LIFESAVER!!! I have been addicted to your packs ever since and have almost all of them now, except Spelljammer and Tomb of Annihilation. As big of a fan as I am of your work, I have a question to ask as I don't know everything about your policies and can't find anything written out about using your maps in streams that are for profit. I seem to remember I heard about you on a Reddit thread offering CotN to streamers for free. (I don't stream, so my copy was bought the old fashioned way LOL) However, a friend of mine does stream under the name of Dork Tales. So, what's your policy on using your maps in a for profit stream? If you allow it, I'd like to purchase a second copy for Kelly if he wants it. TYIA Raven, aka Cyn

Hi Cyn, thank you so much!
I've spoken to Kelly and sent him my Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen maps already. All my maps are free to streamers, and can be used commercially in streams. I don't think Kelly has used any yet but he does have a copy.

Would people recommend these for using on TTRPG rather than a VTT? What's the print out quality like? Thank you.

Hi Gary! I don't know that anyone other than me reads and responds to these comments.
I play in person with my friends and print and use my own maps. That's why I started making them.
They come out with a 1 inch grid, look great, they are high resolution, and are labelled for ease of use.
Color quality varies depending on where you print, I've found some devices print them a bit dark and some skew the alignment a bit so do some test prints and compare.
It's also expensive, $10 for this map pack but nearly $100 to print them all. Look for sales and deals if you use print shops.

Tessa - these maps are even better than expected! These are well worth the price set on them - and while I'm not chomping at the bit to spend money, I'd dare say they're worth even more than the price tag on them. I was glad just to have the maps themselves that are all tied directly to scenes in the campaign, but to see they also have lighting and walls already set up... the time and energy that I'd have to put into replicating all of this is worth it's weight in gold! Thanks so much for putting your time into this! It's going to make running this campaign so much easier, and I can now dedicate more time to customizing it and adding detail rather than searching for maps to fill in all the gaps!

Can't the maps be imported as images and then I add a grid onto the image? What is the benefit of using an app to convert it for Fantasy Grounds? (I'm no techie, but I've added battlemaps to my Image folder in FGU and it seems to work.

Absolutely you can do that. The importer adds the info for line-of-sight items (walls), doors, windows, lights, and auto populates the grid size.

3-13 Escape from Vogler Alternate suggests that it is an alternate version. Is there another version? Just curious.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
