THE AESTHETICS GUIDE TO ANSALON is a series of books compiled over two years of research into the epic series of Dragonlance novels plus Dragonlance modules from across systems and editions, ranging from the earliest AD&D material to the 3.5 updates.

These guides update all of the old material, collecting information from across sources to create the most complete collection of information possible on everything already established about the continent of Ansalon - all updated for Dungeons and Dragons 5e!

Of all the stories of Krynn and Ansalon, the War of the Lance is one of the best known as it was the building block on which nearly 200 novels were written, not including adventure modules.

This guide presents the story of Spring Dawning updated for 5e, retelling the story of the Companions as they make the final moves towards either victory or defeat at the hands of the Dragonarmies.

Spring updates the full story from the old modules, taking information from those adventrures and blending them with updated information from the novels to retell the full story from the aftermath of the battle at the High Clerist's Tower through the discover of the secrets of Sanction, a trip to the Dragon Isles, and finally the confrontation at the Dark Queen's Temple!

This guide also provides all of the possible endings and epilogues offered by the classic modules, giving a player party a lot of options when it comes to how they bring their epic campaign to a close!

Note: It is important to note that this guide provides only the important story elements of the Autumn narrative, and does not provide any location information or guides. For these, you will need other books in the Aesthetics Guide to Ansalon series.

THE AESTHETICS GUIDE TO ANSALON is a series of 21 books covering every location on Ansalon, plus complete guides to magic items and a Bestiary of all creatures that include in these modules. Look out for more to be released in the near future!

I am running the 5e "Shadow of the Dragon Queen" and, when it ends, would like to give the characters a route into the classic story, either alongside the Heroes of the Lance or replacing them in our own story. Is this product an adventure that would allow that? Is it one component I could use to synthesize that adventure?

Hi James! These guides were designed based on the classic adventure path, and start at a lower level than SotDQ ends at. The intention there was to update the original Chronicles modules assuming a party was following that narrative trail.
All of the narrative information remains the same though, as does all of the information in the locations guides, so you'd only have to adjust the encounter difficulties for a higher level party.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
