Champions of Krynn

The cover of Champions of Krynn, Chapter 1: The Mystery of the Lost Patrol

Evil never rests and neither should the forces of good. It has been one year since the end of the War of the Lance. And while the forces of the Whitestone Council are still battling the remnants of the Dragon Highlord armies, a new force arises. In the area around Throtl, rumors spread of a forgotten book that can unlock a long forgotten secret. With limited forces in the area, the Whitestone Council must look to others to help unlock the mystery and prevent an ancient legend from being unleashed on Krynn.

  • A four-part adventure that takes the players through 1st level, with up to 7 encounters.
  • Updated maps of the different locations around Throtl and Solamnia, as well as other locales the adventure takes you.
  • New tables to generate NPC's, and rumors that link to subsequent chapters being released soon.
  • A new player ancestry and new cantrips & 1st level spells

Samples of encounters players will face in the adventure.

Just a heads up that we uploaded a new version of the PDF as an error in the TOC was detected. It had ben corrected in the POD when that released, so no worries there.

Hi Edward: Can you explain the difference between the two PDFs? I'm not able to tell by their names. Is one the corrected version?

The most recent corrects an issue in the Table of Contents. That's the only difference. You should be able to go by the most recent date.

Hi Edward: Thanks for your response last month. Please note that there is nothing in the file names, and nothing in the DMsGuild display that gives any indication of the date individual files are modified. If you could identify the newest file by name, or better yet, remove the out of date file, that would be very helpful! Thanks.

What city maps are included in this book? I am looking specifically for Palanthas.

Hi there, a city map for Palanthas is not included in this book. Throtl is included with the adventure (Champions of Krynn Chapter 1), though. We have a new World Map for this as well. There is historical information on Palanthas, Solamnia, and quite a good chunk of Ansalon history.

I didn't buy it here, so am locked from a true rating. But I have had this for years since it was first offered on the Dragonlance Nexus. Just wanted to say highly recommended. It took a lot of the work out of my trying to figure how to use my 3.5 books in 5e

Does this book include stats for Gully Dwarves as a playable race? If not can anyone recommend a place to find suggestions?

Is the intention to create a full-play through of Champions of Krynn, Death Knight of Krynn, and Dark Queen of Krynn? Like not an exact adaptation of the game, but work through a full-play through? It was by far my favourite series when I was younger so super excited to see this.

I will for sure buy any content for this as it comes out. Would love to get my players to play through this amazing game in tabletop :)

i have a question. will there be an update for the pdf. a lot of times i copy and paste to a word office. template so i can build a char/npc, a lot of the times the spacing goes a bit quirky. causing entire sentences to be spaced nearly every other letter in the words.

Hi there, apologies but the pdf is formatted like that by the DM's Guild. It can't be changed on our end. It's that way to keep people from pirating.

Love it. Have used it already in preparation of SotDQ. One of my players was under the impression Kender were, in general, angry halflings because of their ability to taunt. Thankfully I had this to show him otherwise and in a educative way rather than me waxing long in my explanation, I was able to use the clear description inside which was very useful- he now likes the concept of kender and how they fit into the world. I also plan to use the Draconians in here too. Looking forward to the PoD version as well as the rest of the CoK series and 5e Conversions of the original models.

Question - does the history of Krynn section cover up to and including the Dark Disciple series? Everything I ever find online only describes up to the end of the War of Souls books and what I'd really like is an idea of what Krynn is like at the end of the timeline, circa 430 AC.

Hi there, our timeline goes a little bit past that, covering the Wizard's Conclave novel. However, you can go to the Dragonlance Wiki (which we manage), and search by year for the bigger things happening. I would suggest starting after 421 AC and looking at each year from there on the site. The last year covered is 430 AC.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
