You find yourself angry, desiring power but unwilling to sell your soul to the devils below. You wander the wilderness in frustration until you happen upon a beast like no other. Claws as large as your hands and teeth as large as your forearm. A predator whose eyes have locked onto you.

You are its prey, trembling in fear of being eaten. Your legs will not move even as it approaches. Its breath wafting between you with the scent of putrid meat. You don't want to die. Crying out you attack it with your dagger struggling to survive.

"I took you for prey without teeth. It seems I was wrong. I will allow you to live, if you serve me," the beast says as with one massive paw it slams you to the ground. Pinning you with its massive weight. You have no choice but to agree. To become part of its pack.

Why should you follow the teachings of any church? So many people are hypocrits within its walls. Yet, you just have to follow a god to do any form of healing. It's sad really considering how often the gods simply ignore their followers.

"You seem lost in thought," a woman says approaching you her golden hair glowing in the sunlight.

"Oh, uhh, just thing about work," you respond sheepishly knowing your oppinions may not be well recieved.

"Perhaps I can help," she offers with a smile. "You would not have to praise me nor attend any church. All I ask is you heal others."

"I don't understand," you respond surprised at her offer. A devil in disguise maybe? Warlocks were known to make fiendish pacts.

"I am no fiend. Rather my only desire is to bless others and prevent death from taking them too early. Consider my offer as you becoming a guardian helping to lessen those who would enter the nine circles," she explains with a beaming smile.

It sounds too good to be true. Yet you find yourself biting your lip in thought. Sitting and praying was boring, reading the words of gods was yawn inducing. What did you really have to lose? You'd get your healing and not be tied to a god but this beautiful woman. How could you say no?

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
