Author's Note

Hey there, folks! Cam here, with a new series for you all - Lineages of the Multiverse! This grew out of a conversation I have SO MANY TIMES when I work with players to come up with characters for different settings: "Well, what are X people like in X world?" And that is especially poignant with the worlds we find in the published Wizards settings.

We are presented with Faerun, Eberron, Ravnica, Ravenloft, Theros, Strixhaven (Arcavios), the Feywild, and the First World. Eight worlds, which will soon be growing to ten with Spelljammer and Radiant Citadel rolling through soon. So, where do we go from here?

I collected an amazing cast of writers and artists to help bring to life a series answering just that question: what are X people like in X world. In this first book, we dive into my favorite race across the D&D Multiverse: orcs. Roe and VJ were AMAZING to work with and see how they took the prompts I gave them and brought their orcs to life: Vic tackles Eberron, the First World, and Ravenloft; while Roe took on Arcavios, Faerun, and the Feywild. Me, I grabbed Theros and Ravnica. All of these were inspired by the fantastic character art of Dejja Blue, and our amazing cover by Cayde Anderson.

In this book you will find eight wonderful new interpretations of orcs from across eight worlds, all aiming to give you more flavor for your tables, and also help support players and DMs when they get faced with that questions. Say you have been playing in Faerun for forever, but want to give Theros a try, and you want to play a variant of your Faerunian orc - well, now there is no sweat!

We hope you enjoy the first of many more to come!

- Cam

All Tusks, Grazed and Gnarled

Within this first book of the Lineages of the Multiverse, learn about the eight variants of orcs across the Feywild, First World, Ravnica, Theros, Arcavios, Eberron, Faerun, and Ravenloft.

From the Numen of the First World to the Pylodontas of Theros to the furred giants of the Feywild, Orcs of the Multiverse offers a treat to anyone who are lovers of one of D&D's most downtrodden races.

Stripped of colonialist and bioessentialist design, this series features the Ancestry and Culture system, making it easy to be a young Olons orc of Eberron who might have grown up amongst the Gruul of Ravnica!

Are you going to add a preview so people can get an idea of how the book is formatted, etc?

Hey Joseph! I could have sworn I had set one on there, but I will fix that post-haste. Sometimes my internet will glitch out being up here in the mountains and one thing will save but another won't. Thanks for the pointer!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
