Demonomicon of Azazel

Demonomicon

Once a proud planetar, Azazel became the scapegoat for Heaven’s failures.

Pledging himself to the powers of Hell, where he believed his prowess would be truly valued, he instead found himself crushed into even greater obedience.

It was only in the Abyss, alongside the forces he spent millennia fighting against, that Azazel finally found freedom.

The doctrine of Azazel preaches that society is built upon the broken backs of the betrayed.

That only when the powerful are brought down can ‘Do What Thou Wilt’ become the whole of the law.

As violent cults rise up on countless worlds, Azazel imparts the ‘freedom’ he has found.

The complete destabilization of the cosmic order is at hand.

The Demonomicon is back!

Following in the tradition of the much-loved Dragon Magazine articles, the Demonomicon of Azazel provides an in-depth look at the demon lord of outcasts and betrayal.

For those who dare open its unholy pages, it features:

  • Full stats for a new CR 25 demon lord (fit to challenge even the highest level adventurers); including lair actions, regional effects, demon lord Madness table, and combat strategies.

  • A comprehensive examination of Azazel including his origins, goals and relationships with other demon lords.

  • Details on the mayhem and havoc wrought by his cultists, including the all new Demonic Boon of Azazel.

  • A full list of Azazel’s demonic minions, and how each (are forced to) serve him.

  • A perilous and soul-crushing exploration of Azazel’s personal Abyssal realm of Outcast’s End, including optional rules for the layer, as well as complete location and monster/NPC encounter tables developed for all four tiers of play

  • Various adventure hooks and scenarios for incorporating Azazel into your campaign, including integration with Rage of Demons: Out of the Abyss.

  • Comprehensive integration with Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus, that transforms the story into a campaign of redemption for two fallen angels with their fates tied together.
  • 2 new magic items tied to the demon lord: the brutal Spine of Woe and the Tears of Rahia.

  • A monster new to 5th Edition, the terrifying Kastighur, with full stats and lore included.
  • All new original artwork developed specifically for this product.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
