Bridges Built or Burned?

The final showdown is puts a moral choice in front of the characters. When they return to the Fey domain of Andelein, they will see the tail end of a confrontaion between the forces of Edward Dannihyr and Alindaya. Whose side will the players choose? Will their actions bring balance or more suffering? Put your players in the driver's seat for how their actions will affect Amnians and Fey denizens alike.

About the author: Brian’s love for the world of D&D started in 2000 with the PC game Baldur’s Gate, countless RA Salvatore novels about Drizzt and the companions, and naturally Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn. He started playing and running games for 5e in 2020. He enjoys running adventures with consequential player choices, a tight connected story, and a chance to learn more about the lore in D&D.

His first set of adventures, The Thin Veil Trilogy, involved reading more than 500 pages of materials from older editions to make sure that the way Planar Bleed and Planar Metaphysics, the Shadowfell, and Vecna were described were true to lore. Researching and finding ways to inject life into older stories is something he very much enjoys.

Continuous improvement is always ongoing. I spotted something I wrote under Part 3: Archfey Tactics where Alindaya can use shapechange to turn into an archmage and teleport out of a wall if they are held there (since sticking an archfey inside a wall of force would trivialize that encounter). The thing is, this does not work RAW because shapechange doesn't give you the Spellcasting feature of the new form you take.

What I have done instead are the following:
- The domain gives Alindaya the ability to teleport as part of their movement (within 60 feet of themselves, like Dimension Door)
- Their prepared spell is foresight (the default Archdruid 9th level spell, and this adventure will use the original stat block as MPM is expected in the next Dungeoncraft season)

This, as well as an incorrectly named Appendix section (V1.0 has two Appendix 10's) will go into V1.1 which I will push out soon. Apologies to the tables that were affected by this and I hope you all still had fun...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
