The Lost Treasures of Sir Canard

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Forgotten relics. Lost temples. Ancient traditions. Valuable and powerful artifacts may have been lost to time, but there are some individuals out there who dedicate their lives to solving their mysteries and finding those treasures. When the adventuring party comes across the journal of Sir Canard, they are presented with the clues and information needed to track down several of these forgotten artifacts. Can they use his research to recover these priceless items? Or will the dangers guarding these secrets ensure they remain hidden forever?

The Lost Treasures of Sir Canard contains five separate adventures for parties of all levels that send the characters on treasure hunts based on the contents of the recovered journal. The adventures can be run individually or together as part of the larger story.

This product includes:

  • Five original adventures with guidance on how to scale them for characters of all levels.

  • A separate “in game” journal of notes, clues, and sketches to be presented to the players.

  • Five unique and powerful magical legendary items, including:

    • The Ring of Kings - Summon a powerful ally to fight at your side.

    • The Sword of the Serpent - An ancient blade imbued with power by yuan-ti gods.

    • Kildragon - A magical spear that inspires allies and frightens enemies.

    • And more!

  • Four original battle maps ready for VTT usage, including versions with and without grids.

I love all the details and coloring in the books, but I'm trying to save on ink when printing. Do you possibly have a version that doesn't have the parchment background?

Hello David! Good question. There are a few references to locations within the Forgotten Realms setting (such as Icewind Dale and the towns there), but those are easily renamed or replaced. It's not incredibly tied to that setting, we just used some existing names of towns and regions for those who might already play within that setting.

Would you happen to have a version of this that can be edited? I love the adventure and the supplemental material in the journal, but I want to change the dates to make sense in my homebrew setting. Thanks!

Hello! While it is tricky to create an editable PDF (and I think it depends more on the version of Adobe you have than the PDF itself), would the source code on GM Binder be helpful? You can find it here: https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-N-eXGiRdfMXKbP7F-P1

If not, we can explore other options to make those dates editable.

Thanks for the question and support! Hope you enjoy these adventures.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
