A 4-hour Tier 1 adventure in a Feywild Domain of Delight

The perimeter of a volcanic island needs secured!

Help a nature preserve's new caretaker assure the area surrounding his base of operations is safe.

The Rookery is a magical tome containing a feywild demiplane dedicated to the preservation and rehabilitation of endangered species. The land inside consists of several islands containing
diverse habitats such that any creature needing care had terrain similar to home. Once the species recovered or flourished, they were reintroduced to their native plane.

Unfortunately, before the domain truly flourished, the book along with an entire Fey queen’s library was banned and then lost. It was ultimately forgotten, and the land within it left to its own devices for many hundreds of years. As time passed, the original monitoring facilities became a forgotten ruin on a distant island.

The domain has recently been reclaimed and a new caretaker is rebuilding the former Visitor's Center. Now he needs help securing the rest of the island on which it resides, so he can start investigating the long lost domain.

The party will need to deal with a wild beast, assess an active volcano, locate a lost village, and uncover a terrible story.

Inside you'll find:

Quick question (while prepping the awesome module into Roll20) - I did had to squash the beautiful PNG of Bolconihir in order to upload it as I could not find a smaller version of the map. Which made me wonder, was this on purpose (in addition to the lacking dd2vtt file), so we have Theater of the mind (which would be odd as there seem to be encounters on this map)?

Oof sorry just an oversight. I have uploaded a jpg copy as well now, under the 5mb limit for roll20. It was definitely not intentional. I think, as you put it, the map is beautiful, one of my favorites I've made, and I picked the best file format to preserve the quality. I was not thinking about size. The only reason there is no dd2vtt file is that only part of this map was made in dungeondraft the rest was made in photoshop which does not have that same export option. I'm currently trying to find another way to put lighting and walls in so I can do those exports. If dungeondraft ever allows the import of an image where you can just add walls/lights without altering the image any further or some other way, I can then add pre-made wall/light on photoshop-derived maps. I'm still trying to find ways to do this.

No worries. I managed to draw the lines in Roll20 and every other dd2vtt File worked like a charm (especially once I found out how to Open Doors in Roll20 ;-)). Now idea how to export the lines, otherwise I would have send it down your way.

First off, I love what I've read in the preview & will be buying & running the series for my FLGS players. Second, the reason for the post is the Hive Queen battle. In the suggestions it has violet fungi, but I see no references to these critters. Is this a misplaced text or are these in the encounter? Awesome work on everything you've written so far!!(running the Tendrils part 2 adventure with my group right now)

Must be misplaced. I think it may have been used from a box template. I'll get it corrected ASAP.

I'm glad you are enjoying things, Rookery has many more to come so I hope I can keep up the pace!

Okay corrected and a v1.2 is uploaded. If you don't want to re-download you can just know that where it says violet fungus it means adult kruthik. And the second entry of Strong should state Very Strong.

Thank you for the rapid response. I thought it was referring to the kruthik, but you never know what might await the PCs. I did find a similar entry for the violet fungi in the first adventure later on.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
