Strixhaven Scholars

ADD TO WISHLIST >

In this collection of NPCs, we present a total of 46 NPCs who all are CR 6. All of these NPCs are inspired the scholars of colleges from Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos, school on the plane of Arcavios in Magic the Gathering.

Each college gets at least 8 graduate characters who are stronger than their apprentice and pledgemage undergraduate peers but weaker than their professors from their college. As a DM, you can use these interesting NPCs for combat encounters in your campaign. From the players’ perspective, your players can use or hire these quite colorful henchmen or hirelings in their party. Surely they can use the help of lorehold relic reader in a dungeon or enjoy a drink with prismari aesthemancer over the myriad topics of multiverse.

We hope that with little to no effort, you and your players can have fun for a long time.

In this book, Lorehold has 10 scholars, Prismari has 12 scholars, Quandrix has 8 scholars, Silverquill has 8 scholars, and Witherbloom has 8 scholars.

Was looking for actual fleshed out NPCs, not just stat blocks, but I guess I can use these to jump off of. Not enough time in the day to create a whole damn university on my own.

Hi Nicole. What kind of a stat block or character was the fleshed out NPCs on your mind? Was it similar to this PWYW product or different? https://www.dmsguild.com/product/329838/NPC-Collections-Hiranen--CR-16-Erinyes-Villain?src=by_author_of_product
If you can give any ideas, we can certainly try to implement it in another product :)

Same. From the description, I definitely expected actual prepped NPCs with names, traits or values, etc. My players have been begging for more advanced students and I don't have time to come up with a bunch, so I was excited to find something that had graduate students, but yeah I hoped for more than stat blocks. Very well thought out, and definitely useful to have a more fleshed out idea of the types of scholars listed in the sourcebook. Just not what I thought I was buying.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
