This is a 5e D&D conversion of the various monsters, creatures, magic items, and encounters for the classic D&D module A1: Slave Pits of the Undercity. Is there any way to get the DungeonDraft maps for the Temple? In the Scourge of the Slave Lords reprint of Slave Pints of the Undercity, there is a hallway connecting 16A to 9 and I would like to have a map updated to reflect this change. I would not expect you to make a change to your work so wondering if I could get a copy of the file to make my own changes to it.

Hi Brad,
I'm trying to figure out if I am allowed to upload and redistribute the Dungeondraft files or not. If I can, I think we still have a minor hurdle, there are several asset packs that I've used. I can redistribute maps made with them, but not the asset packs themselves. It took me a few minutes of looking at the maps and your post to realize there must be a passage added in the Scourge of the Slave Lords supermodule that was not in the original. I will try to track down a copy of the map from the super module so I can see the passage. If I find this and produce a new map, I will reply again. I don't mind doing this, if it is helpful for you, it will certainly help others running the supermodule version.
Thanks,
Ernie

Hello Brad,
I've been taking a close look at the sewer map from Source of the Slave Lords. I am not seeing the missing hallway, but I remain happy to make an adjustment or variant of the map if you can help me understand what is needed. It does not look like the room numbering has changed. Room 16a appears to be just west of 16 and north of 15. I have the passages I see on the map connecting these two areas. Can you provide a little extra detail to help me better understand? Thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
Ernie

Hi Brad,
I'm a little slow on the uptake over here. You said in the temple level, I now see the hallway added for Scourge of the Slave Lords. I will work on a variant for this shortly.
Thank you,
Ernie

Thanks, Ernie! It's interesting that only the Scourge collection has that open passageway on the Temple level whereas the A0-A4: Against the Slave Lords (1e) collection, a more recent publication within the last decade, seems to take the original module map. To me, I like the addition of the passageway as it opens up the Temple which seems like an odd design choice not to have it originally.

Hi Brad,
My pleasure. It was an easy fix and other folks will benefit from it too. I remember people complaining that there was no way to access area 9, but I suppose there is now! I have uploaded the corrected map. You should be able to download it at any time. It is the version that ends in "VarB".
Happy Gaming good sir.

Question:

Gauntlets of Dexterity has the following text:

Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement)
Major tier
Your Dexterity score is 19 while you wear these gauntlets. They have no effect on you if your Strength is already 19 or higher without them.

Is the Strength at 19 meaning it cancels out the Dexerity bonus or is that a typo?

Hi Brad, It's a typo. They have no effect on you if your Dexterity is already 19 or higher without them. I will correct the type and upload a new copy shortly. Thank you for letting me know about this.
Thanks again and happy gaming.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
