Boat Bound Batiri Bash

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Deep in the jungles of Chult, a group of Batiri goblins are going fishing in the local rivier.....using a helpless acolyte as bait!

Will the PCs rescue the acolyte before they succumb to the river's perils?

Will your players enjoy themselves?

Is this worth an entire dollar?

Only time (and the preview which shows basically the whole thing) will tell.

Boat Bound Batiri Bash is a damp encounter for those foolish enough to brave the jungles of Chult. Recommended for 4-5 3rd level players in a boat. Maybe a rowboat. Or a canoe. Doesn't really matter

Great for use as a One Shot, a fleshed out random encounter, or a side quest!

What do you get in this PDF?

  • A Short Encounter: This Encounter can be easily dropped into any game. Personally, I think it can kick up Tomb of Annihilation or Ghosts of Saltmarsh a little bit if you are into some awesome premade adventures. It was written with Forgotten Realms flavor, but that can be easily changed.
  • My Eternal Gratitude.
  • A Good Time: Ok, that may sound presumptuous, but I can say we sure had a blast. I bet you will too!

Well, I gave it a look. Pros: I like the simple setup - definitely a worthwhile encounter for jungle travel. I have found surprisingly few written encounters like this, when it seems they would be useful to any DM with a party in the jungle. Cons: (1) there seems to be one half-orc acolyte, but a few references to 'they' 'their' suggests original edit planned for more than one - should clarify; (2) the goblins not only leave behind potions for no apparent reason, but a map to their encampment? That's suicidal.

But those are minor quibbles easily and quickly fixed by the DM.

Thank you for the feedback!

To address the two items you mentioned:

1. The half orc wasn’t given a gender so I used they/their as designative pronouns to refer to the . Feel free to change that when/if you run it though!

2. The goblins are free to use the potions they have, i just figured if you got players who like treasure, then this may be a nice way to scratch that itch without breaking the game balance. In regards to the map, I’m a big fan of “random encounters” that lead to greater adventure. (Also in my mind the goblins are largely nomadic, so they have a tough time remembering where they last made camp!)

Anyway, thank you for leaving your comment! Have a great day

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
