Tap Untap Burn - Elemental Ki

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Elemental Ki is a collection of variant rules that provide new options for Monks that choose Way of the Four Elements tradition.

A full walkthrough of the document preview is on youtube here:

The Elemental Magic paradigm creates games mechanics around a monk's Ki pool and disciplines chosen to feel like the Way of the Four Elements is more than just flavor. Elemental Ki provides the means to devote each point of Ki to one of the four elements when using elemental disciplines: Air Ki for Air disciplines, Earth Ki for Earth disciplines, etc. This is very similar in design to Tap Untap Burn 5 Color Mana Spell Point Variant Rules provided on the DMsGuild here:
https://www.dmsguild.com/product/314205/Color-Mana-Spell-Points-COREKT-BUNDLE
For players that enjoy the 5 color magic system from Magic: The Gathering, ki points can be devoted to the color magic paradigm linked above instead of the elemental magic paradigm.
Elemental Ki also provides an expanded list of elemental disciplines to prepare each day, instead of learning each level. Your monk gains a dedicated list of over 50 cantrips, disciplines, and spells to prepare each day as a half-caster martial character class, similar to playing a paladin.

The Elemental Ki playmat shown on page 13 of the linked preview PDF, including both elemental and color ki tokens, as well as an editable list of elemental disciplines shown on page 3 of the linked preview PDF are all included in a zip file that you can download with purchase of Elemental Ki that you can then print for at home play, or upload to the Virtual Tabletop of your choice for online play.

Additional elemental class features are included to compliment the elemental disciplines that Way of the Four Elements offers, similar to half-casting classes and Eldritch Knights gain a list of spells as well as unique features gained at 3rd, 6th, 11th, and 17th level.

New variant duration and concentration mechanics are provided, similar to those presented in Tap Untap Burn books linked above. These new options create interesting tactical choices for how much Ki you devoted to each element/color, and which disciplines you choose to prepare each day, whether you want to be devoted to a single element, or an avatar that combines all four.
Additional variant class features are provided that any monk can use, which showcase how old class features from the Player's Handbook can be reimagined using a dynamic Ki mechanic characteristic of Tap Untap Burn supplements.

The art unique to Elemental Ki had been created live on youtube streaming. Those sessions can be viewed here:

Elemental Ki has been included in a bundle with the other Tap Untap Burn books for a considerable discount on DmsGuild here:

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
