The Frozen Badlands - Full Campaign

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Welcome to the Frozen Badlands. An area of Faerun so desolate only the most desperate of people would call it home. This area has become a haven for every defeated warlord or despised necromancer that ever lost a campaign in the south and lived to tell about it.

On the southern border of the Frozen Badlands sits a fertile valley that is home to the Danear. After arriving some 200 years or so ago the Danear have managed to build up a nice sized barbarian society including fortified cities and towns and numerous villages and independant farm steads. Trade with each other and with the dwarves at Citadel Adbar is robust and profitable.

Now all this is threatened because someone, they do not know exactly who yet, has arrived in the Badlands and set about creating a coalition of defeated orc tribes, isolated drow tribes and renegade humans in order to storm the lands of the south, starting with the Danear.

The first step is to deal with what the Danear do know and to gather information on the rest. Begin the adventure with module 1 (The Duergar Keep) in Citadel Adbar and help the Danear deal with a small group of humans allied with a tribe of outcast Duergar.

This is a campaign set in the frozen northern reaches beyond the Ice Mountains. There are a total of 5 modules in this campaign and include Drow outposts, Orc strongholds, Duergar underground complexes as well as Human fortress and tower compounds.

The background infromation on the Danear is flushed out and this includes a brief historical background on the Danear and how they arrived in the area. All maps for the modules are included in individual zip files for each module contained in the module directories. Simply unzip the main zip file while ensureing that 'preserve directory structure' (if applicable) is applied and all the required modules and maps should be placed in their proper directories.

A detailed file containing all the relevant NPCs of the land, the good and the bad, is also included as well as detailed maps of all the Danear settlements and outposts.

This campaign is for middle and upper tier characters and advancement of levels as one progresses through the campaign is both anticipated and accounted for in the creation of the later modules. A character group of middle tier characters should be able to end the campaign as upper level characters if played from module 1 until the end of module 5. The enemies improve as the modules advance.

Multiple play sessions of enjoyment are at hand as you help the Danear save themselves and prevent a bigger invasion of Citadel Adbar and the lands to the south.

There are 5 files to download for this campaign. 4 are pdf files and the fifth is a large zip file containing all the modules and maps for the modules. Please contact me  with any problems with unpacking the .zip files.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
