Tier 3 playthrough. Our 5 member party with an average party level of 12.6 fought a CR 23 creature AND another creature that was at least CR 15 in the opening encounter. DMG guidelines place that as over double the XP Threshold for a Deadly encounter with just the CR 23 Creature. Both creatures together come out to at least quadruple the XP Threshold.

Challenging doesn't begin to cover the difficulty - if you don't have a party who can target one specific weakness that isn't obvious (because the creature is a reskinned version of another creature with the look and creature type changed) or are just completely overpowered for your level, this is TPK material.

On top of that, the rest of the module relies on an annoying NPC dragging you around on an investigation that consists of going to locations and finding clues (the NPC even changes color when you find everything in a location, like a video game), and a final fight that throws shade on iconic D&D characters for a cheap laugh....See more

Yup, and the final guy has better saves than a CR27 Red Greatwyrm and a CR30 Terrasque (to name a few). Brought in a 16th level wizard and it was the most boring four hours I have had at the table in years.

This Epic is extremely fun and memorable, chock full of Easter Eggs, references, and emotional pull and engagement, this module especially really understands the players investments and engagement with the stories and the AL content. Long Live Candlekeep! Long Live Nurfenpurf and hats off to Anthony Joyce-Rivera and Carl Sibley for an epic experience.

Note. For Tier 2 Parties this module is challenging, For Tier three this modules is challenging and monstrously scary in the most fun way. Those who prefer combat will find the module enjoyable and challenging.

Anyone know if this is formatted for a single party? I'm running a group through DRW right now and I'd love to slip this in!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
