Cover

In this follow-up to the platinum-bestselling first volume, you and your players will seek out a sphinx in a spell-caster's prison, deliver a dangerous gift to a blind beholder, stand with a thri-kreen army against overwhelming odds, and much more. This is the much-anticipated followup collection of ten one-shot adventures, each carefully distilled into a single-page format, ready to play.

Less is more--as long as it is the right kind of less.

There are fully play-tested adventures for every tier, party type, and style of play -- focusing the party on a clear mission in a colourful setting while leaving plenty of room for improvisation, spontaneity, and endless possibilities for fun. Packed with colourful NPCs, formidable monsters, and clever traps, there is something in this volume for everyone to like.

I just discovered you today. I am new to being a DM and I need little adventures to help me build my skills. I am buying your tool kit and the DM companion as well as both One Shots volumes so wish me all the luck. (I feel overwhelmed and like I need it.)

Best of luck Tonya! You're doing your players a big favour stepping into the DM role--there would be no adventure without you! So be sure to cut yourself plenty of slack, roll with whatever's going on, and remember your fun is just as important as everyone else's.

I hope the resources help. Let me know how it goes! (If you want.)

What are the APL for each of the adventures?
Or, if that's too annoying to collate and add here, really all I'd like to know is how many of them are suitable for a level 2 or 3 party?

Thanks for your question. Four of the ten adventures are suitable for "Tier I" play, and the book gives guidelines for how to adapt higher tiers down (and vice-versa), so there's no reason you couldn't use e.g. the additional three "Tier II" adventures for a low-level party by e.g. halving the number of enemies and halving other damage (such as from traps). Several adventures are also designed to be adaptive within the tier system based on party size, suggesting for example "two times party size number of goblins". All of them have been play tested, but that said very precisely balanced encounters aren't really the main focus of the series--it's more about mixing things up to keep all play styles engaged.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
