Timber Falls [GCC-1]

Grasp of the Crooked Coven: Timber Falls

A wicked fey creature called the Restless Man causes terrifying disturbances that keep the townspeople of Oak Hollow awake and petrified all night long. Even the most well-mannered residents are becoming exhausted and mean-tempered from sleep deprivation. Will the party be able to put an end to the Restless Man’s malicious reign of nighttime terror?

Timber Falls is the first adventure in Grasp of the Crooked Coven, an adventure path designed to take characters from level 1-6. Grasp of the Crooked Coven centers around a coven of wicked hags and their insidious brood. These adventures can be run individually or tied together into a mini-campaign about the destruction of the Crooked Coven and their machinations to bring ruin upon a small village and its residents.

A 2-4 hour Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition adventure for level 1 characters.

This supplement includes:

A Nursery Rhyme about a Fey Villain

4 Random Encounters for a Sylvan Wood

3 New Monsters

Do you need Tales of the Mistwood to play this?

Definitely not! Timber Falls is an adventure with a fully contained story, all the stat blocks you need, the map, and all that. You can easily play it as a oneshot in Oak Hollow or drop the adventure into your preferred setting in any town near a forest. Tales of the Mistwood is an in-depth look at the town of Oak Hollow: information on its citizens, side quests the party can do there, and descriptions of key locations. It certainly has material you could use to expand or personalize adventures in Oak Hollow, but it is by no means required to run Timber Falls.

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
