I Find That Familiar

2022 ENNIE GOLD AWARDEE FOR BEST ORGANIZED PLAY ADVENTURE!

ENnie 2022 Logo

A 4-Hour adventure set in the creator’s Feywild domain, playable by D&D Adventurers League Forgotten Realms characters levels 1-4. Part of the Dungeoncraft Spotlight series for The Wild Beyond the Witchlight season.

This is a disaster! Spellcasters all over the realm cannot summon their fey familiars. Something must’ve happened in Paliparan, the Domain of Delight where a lot of fey creatures go before they get summoned using the find familiar spell.

A four-hour adventure for Level 1-4 characters. Optimized for Average Party Level (APL) 2.

This product includes the following:

  • A 40-page PDF file of the adventure (4-Hour Adventure)
  • A 36-page Printer-Friendly PDF version of the adventure
  • 13 Separate High-res .PNG map files
  • 1 Separate Player Handout .PNG file
  • A Dish of Delight recipe that may or may not taste good (included in the adventure)

CONTENT WARNING: Gambling, animal harm, fey curses, child imprisonment, illness, loss of a friend

Why stop here? Cross to other Domains of Delight in the Feywild and experience the magic and stories crafted by other fantastic authors that are part of the Dungeoncraft Spotlight program.

Is "Rest At Last" no longer available? Also, is there tier 2 and beyond adventures available in this line?

Would you mind if I translate this familiar into Ukrainian to publish here as available and readable for our Ukrainian community?

Hi Ohla! Thank you so much for running my adventure so many times! That is just fantastic. I'm glad you like this adventure and yes, feel free to publish a version of I Find That Familiar in Ukrainian :) I would love to see more people adventure in Paliparan and interact with the familiars that live in it. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Great adventure as always, my group had wonderful fun. I heartily recommend this adventure and is my second favourite of yours after 'A Dragon's Breath'. Also thank you for the Printer Friendly versions, I hope that other authors follow your lead.

The description of the map file says .png but the file itself has a .rar extension that I can't open. Is there a .png version available?

Hi Sharon. The map files have been compiled and compressed together for easier download. that's why you see a .rar file. You will need an application like WinRar or something similar to unpack the file and view the PNG maps.

These compression tools are free and you can easily find them after a quick Google search. Once you've installed a compression tool like WinRar, you can right-click on the .rar file, select Extract Here (or a similar option), and you should be able to see the PNG map files. If you still need assistance after doing the steps I've mentioned, let me know.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
