Making EVERY Magic Item Usable

ADD TO WISHLIST >

In the middle of combat, out of the corner of your dwarven eye, you spot a new 'shiny toy'. It looks like a Dwarven Thrower. In fact, you're sure it is, but you don't have the time to attune to it.

What if you could use that Dwarven Thrower, even if its 'unattuned power' wasn't quite as good as if you were attuned to it? Some power in a losing fight is better than none, right? Well, that's where this book comes to the rescue!

Welcome to Making EVERY Magic Item Usable.

Inside you will find 'unattuned' powers for every magic item within the DMG that requires attunement. This way you can keep your cake and eat it. You can still attune to magic items (or not), but this book allows you to benefit from amazing (even if 'watered down') abilities from magic items that you aren't, or can't, attune to.

EVERY magic item within this publication takes those magic items that require attunement and allows them to be used by characters without the need to attune to them first. If an item that requires attunement is used unattuned, an alternative ability comes into play, allowing the item to be used by any character class or race, providing they have proficiency in the item to do so.

This publication does not remove attunement from items requiring attunement; it's still there in its entirety ... it merely replaces what the item can do, adding an extra layer to those items that allow for the item to be used unattuned. Once a player chooses to have their character attune to the item, then they gain access to the item's full properties of the attuned item as described within the DMG.

This publication now opens up endless possibilities to both DMs and players at their gaming table as well over half the magic items within the DMG are now usable in an unattuned state, making EVERY magic item with the DMG now usable all the time, whether it be in an attuned or unattuned state.

A couple of examples from the DMG and examples of what that item will do in its unattuned state are as follows:

Amulet of Health (DMG VERSION)
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
Your Constitution score is 19 while you wear this amulet. It has no effect on you if your Constitution is already 19 or higher.

Amulet of Health (PUBLICATION ADDITION)
Wondrous item, rare (p150)
Your hit point maximum increases by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus while you wear this amulet.

Dwarven Thrower (DMG VERSION)
Weapon (warhammer), very rare (requires attunement by a dwarf)
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. It has the thrown property with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet. When you hit with a ranged attack using this weapon, it deals an extra 1d8 damage or, if the target is a giant, 2d8 damage. Immediately after the attack, the weapon flies back to your hand.

Dwarven Thrower (PUBLICATION ADDITION)
Weapon (warhammer), very rare (p167)
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
As a bonus action, you can activate this hammer to allow the thrown property, with a normal range of 10 feet and a long range of 30 feet. When you hit with a ranged attack using this weapon and the target is a giant, it deals an extra 1d8 damage. Immediately after the thrown attack, the weapon flies back to your hand.
Once activated, the hammer ceases to activate until you complete a long rest.

As can be seen, by the example items above, the publication doesn't remove the attunement but merely offers an alternative lesser version of the item to be used in an unattuned state, whilst making the item usable to all characters (the dwarven thrower when used in its unattuned state is not limited to be used only by a dwarf).

Now don't be put off by what you just read ... take a look at the sample pages and more of the magic items to get an idea of what the publication contains. I'm sure that once you do, you'll agree that THIS publication is a MUST HAVE at your table.

This has not been attempted before (and is something the author always wished was included for the general public to use).

In addition, every item within the index is hyperlinked to the item page within the publication, making easy access to those items when using the publication on your computer, laptop, or device.

So ... what are you waiting for? The way to give you that 'must have' impression is not from me saying how good it is but for you to go see for yourself. Go click that sample ... I'm sure you'll be saying "sold" before the end of the day :)

Either way, thank you for reading this far and good luck on your gaming journey forward.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
