Slow and Steady

Born of Divinity and the Elements

The story of the minotaur - the bykmuz in their own tongue - is one of uncommon harmony between the gods and the primordials. Their names lost to history, during the great war against the demons of the Abyss, primordials and gods joined forces. A god of order saved the life of an earth elemental general, and this bond grew into one of mutual respect, and eventually love. From their union were born the first bykmuz, and over time they expanded across the worlds of the Prime Material Plane. As stalwart and steady as the bovine they resemble, the humanoid bykmuz tower above their fellow people, standing firmly on two hooves with broad horns, long tails, and strong bodies with stronger minds.

Guardians of Nature

Within their great labyrinthian cities, the bykmuz keep titanic collections of knowledge and philosophy, both agents of order and tradition as well as teachers of nature and chaos. It is said that all bykmuz eventually find their way to Bludiskhlav, the Prime Labriynth. It is believed that here, within its many winding streets and vaulted halls, the tomes that contain the true answers to the universe’s many questions are locked and protected. Above all else, bykmuz value a drive to learn and better one’s mind, as well as strengthening one’s bond with nature and the ancestors. And given their incredibly long lifespans, any bykmuz who seeks these things has a great deal of time to do so.

Bovine Bonanza!

Featuring amazing art from Francesca Rowan of Fehu Studio, this new look at the minotaur from Cameron Day brings you five new cultures to the minotaur based on different bovine breeds: yak, musk-ox, bison, water buffalo, and highland cow.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
