Monster Manual Expanded III (5E) (Fantasy Grounds)

Unleash over 300 terrifying new monsters!

Monster Manual Expanded III continues what the two previous Adamantine Best-Selling bestiaries have started, providing dungeon masters with additional creature options to help fill their adventures. There are 320 statblocks spread across this module, most of which are archetypes and variants found in the Monster Manual, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, and other official 5E adventurer books. There will be more new monsters this third time around, though, most of which come from earlier D&D editions. A large number of them will have legendary actions, giving the dungeon master more boss options. The biggest change, however, are the gorgeous, professionally commissioned art pieces that will inspire DMs and terrify players!

Does this Monster Manuel III (Fantasy Grounds) also work for Roll20? If not, will there be a release for Roll20?

Hi Lindsey B,

Thanks for reaching out!

Monster Manual Expanded III (5E) (Fantasy Grounds) will not work for (Roll20).
This title was adapted for Fantasy Grounds by Grim Press.

Purchased it, but many Tokens and Images for NPCs are really in a bad resolution quality; are you going to fix thoose? Bugbears/Goblins/Hobgoblins/Kobolds specifically but I reckon many "shared artwork" monsters have the same quality issue

Hi Eric,

The art used to create the tokens would have been pulled from the PDF (where available). If you'd like to join our discord and share some examples, we'll certainly fix what we can.

Hi Aleks,

Smiteworks dropped DLC support for Fantasy Grounds Classic in June (2021). As of July 1st, 2021, any modules released have been created specifically for Fantasy Grounds Unity. While the module will open in FGC, you will experience the issues you mention above as the images and tokens are in a different location in FGU builds.

Sorry you've experienced this. If you'd like to join our discord server, we can talk about this in more detail:

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
