Does it work (at least partially) as a stand alone adventure or is The Final Curtain must to close this adventure?
I have my own campaign ready and I'm looking for a single low level introductory adventure I can follow up with my own adventures.

Will there be a bundle for the Mist Hunter series? Because buying all separately make it a bit pricy... It would be nice to have all 14 for a fair price. And POD would be also nice.

I wouldn't pay two dollars for the whole series. It was strung out and written over a number of years, with close to zero interest and zero feedback from end-users, because nobody WANTED to use it. Be aware that the series is rotten with plot holes, pitfalls and blind hallways to lead your party down, if you're not aware that they exist.

On top of all of this, the main premise of the series is simply to break the traditional environmental factor of isolation in the Dark Realms because the party is usually stuck there until they figure a way out. While this may be a fun factor to add in for a party that has already explored the Dark Realms for a campaign or two, you should definitely NOT introduce this game mechanic to your players when they first enter the Dark Realms. Honestly, there is no use for it anyway, because as the DM you can throw a few teleport scrolls or portals at your party whenever you feel they need them.

I would advise grabbing the rules for using the mistways (which...See more

Thanks for that warning! I did saw someone resuming the adventure on reddit, and what you said is close to what i have feel reading the plot that was resume there. I have not, and will not, buy this.

I truly want to run this, but the price is just too outrageous. $10 for a 3 hour adventure and then $15 for the other tie-ins. That $150 for an adventure. Not to mention, these are all PDF, so I still have to print them out and put them in crappy binder. Compare these to the Starter Sets that retail at $20 or less and comes with two printed booklets and extras. Then you have the other anthology books that are $40 and hardbound.

If these were POD I would think they'd be worth the price, but as is, i feel like they are just baiting me with Ravenloft content. The sad part is, I think they'd sell a lot more units if the price was a little lower.

I understand that it is just an adventure, a well thought out and interesting adventure to be sure, but where is the domain lore? Where are the maps. It would have been nice if it included some tools for use in the Domain of Dementlieu, or at the very least, the city of Port-à-Lucine. I miss the good old days when you didn't have to buy adventure tools separately...

So I don't play D&D Adventures League games, and honestly I don't know what the big difference is, but my question is, can I run this game with just my regular group? Or does this have to be "adventure league rules", whatever that really is.

Adventure's League is just rules for character creation and loot distribution to keep balance between groups, so characters can be used between conventions. Those rules aren't even in the modules. You are free to play these modules anyway you want and it doesn't require any conversion.

I ran this at an event, so I didn't purchase my own copy and can't do an official review.

But I wanted to share my thoughts. It was a fun adventure, my party took some warming up to the idea of the roleplaying involved in the first part during the grand ball. But once they got comfortable they really enjoyed it. They also liked the funny etiquette rules involved in the grand ball. The NPCs are pretty well fleshed out, and the possible locations to visit afterwards give some good variety to the adventure. My table visited both the library and the theatre so the module provided a good mix of RP and combat. The end felt a bit anti-climactic though, I think a more definitive "you walk off into the mists" type ending would have helped the party feel like the module was really over as is they were scratching their heads as to where Radaga could be and I had to explain out of game that you can't actually find her in the module.

My biggest complaint would be the layout and structure...See more

I ran this for a group of 5 and stretched it out to four 3+ hour sessions. For a map of the manor I just used the Cassalanter Villa from Dragon Heist. Currently my group is finishing out chpt 2. I hope they keep releasing new chapters before we run out!

It was designed as an introductory adventure so it cannot be scaled up to level 5 unless it is played homebrew. But Mist Hunter characters can level up and down to the level of the adventure they are going to play.

Leveling down after playing at a higher level is such a bizarre concept... lol

Just a note for the content warnings, while they're good and all...

It's actually missing spiders as a content warning, especially for one scene.

Also is there any description of Radaga? My players were asking but the module unfortunately does not provide any.

I understand that this is an epic module to start...do you have to be able to interact with multiple tables or can this be run with a single table?

Forgive me for asking a simple question:

Is this the 1st part of a multi-part adventure?

I ask because, from a quick read through, the Primary Conflict of the adventure doesn't seem to be solved (to not spoil anything, lets say The Mcguffin and the reason behind its disappearance ^_^)

I will admit that I don't play 5th Edition, but I am a Ravenloft fan, and was hoping to be able to convert the broad strokes to 3.5 (Pathfinder 1st Edition, to be specific).

I what I have suggested above is true, I can still make changes to make the adventure a '1 shot', more or less (come up with my own reasons).

Yes, it continues in RMH-01 The Final Curtain. You can find more information about the Mist Hunter's campaign on WOTC's yawning portal blog site.

Ah, I see.

Got to admit, I would have preferred if it were a true 'one shot' adventure.

As it stands, you have to get "The Final Curtain" to get a conclusion to the adventure (but again, something I can probably do myself with a word I despise lately......Work.......^_^)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
