A lot of money for not having a printer friendly version.

Hello, I recently purchased this, Is there able to be a printer friendly version of these modules? The only available version would use a lot of ink.

This was an interesting adventure, but for me it really highlighted how poorly-suited 5E is for running investigative scenarios. The setting itself was delightful. Ermherst is an interesting little town populated with quirky (albeit very confusingly-named) NPCs. There are lots of opportunities for interesting freeform roleplay -- when you set aside your character sheet and just chat in-character. It's when you pick up your dice and get to the actual gameplay that things start to fall apart.

I haven't read the module, but I've played through it with my local AL group. This was my first Mist Hunters experience, and I’m sorry to say I’m not particularly inclined play more adventures in the series. It was a bold move for AL to break from the standard format of “you meet in a tavern, fight some random monsters, and call it a day”, and I applaud the authors' creativity. Investigating mysteries in a roleplaying game can be a ton of fun, and I was really hoping Mist Hunters could pull it off –...See more

I am not allowed to review this, so I'll add my comments here instead.
I have nothing bad to say about this module. Well, it's tricky to keep track of the NPCs with similar names and letters, and their relationship to eachother but a drawing helps with that.
Now the good things. Everything else. Everything!

We played this - in person - immediately after playing RMHEP-01, and I - the DM - was blessed with the best party every! Picked the right player for the .. ahm .. significant part, and they caught on immediately! The rest of the party slowly caught wind of what was going on, and we had the most fun session I have had in years! Yes, this session saved my AL DMing!

Thank you, Greg (and Travis) for this chapter in the story. It is utterly hilarious - and slightly scary - to both play and DM :)

100 stars from me! Share them between the two of you! :)

How did we not learn our lesson from Season 8 and unprintable PDFs? Printer Friendly Versions do not take that much extra work and at 2X the price point should have a printer friendly option. What's even more sad about this is that we know that printer friendly editions exist because we know layout isn't done for convention premiers so they're using printer friendly versions. This is an obvious miss.

Further, I'm really confused, I thought character levels and adventure numbers were going to be in sync for every adventure in this campaign yet the first adventure is still written for APL 3?

The first adventure in the series is for 1st-level characters is the epic (RMH-EP-01 The Grand Masquerade) and which has rules for playing as a single table at home so no one misses out. It takes characters from 1st to 3rd-level. Also note the rules for the Ravenloft campaign are similar to the old 3.5e Campaign style adventures (LGR, MoH, XE...) and your PC is the level of the mod you play, regardless of the order you play and whether that makes you level up or down.

So, my only grief with the RMH content so far: where are the maps? Specifically, where are the maps as digital artifacts in the bundles to use on virtual table tops?

I played this adventure at GenCon and I thought it was fantastic. The DM had a map of Emherst that he used. I wanted to run this for my home group but can't find the map anywhere. Does anyone have it?

WoTC is losing a store that runs AL every weekend because they added things that were not needed (over art and layout heavy) and way over priced the modules. These are 4 hour modules being run for strangers in a store or convention. $150 for the season plus a huge printing fee? No thank you.

There's a typo on page 12, it says "By the time the fire is put out, Zagia's body has been burned..." I believe it should say "Angeleia's body has been burned"

So far this looks like a lot of fun, hoping to run it this weekend

No ratings? No reviews? Surely it can't be that bad! :-) Please give some feedback purchasers!

PS: The "Mist Hunters’ Safety Kit article" anchor link doesn't actual link to any article.

The issue is probably that yawningportal isn't on DMsGuild's white list for hyper links.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
