THE HIGH ROAD.

Prologue to the Lost Mine of Phandelver.

Story Overview

On a chilly autumn night, a brittle copper lantern hangs from a pirate hook as it squeaks and rattles swaying in the dock-side breeze. The adventurers meet at Neverwinter’s most questionable tavern, The Old Lantern. This place serves anything it can get its hand on, locally and afar. Known for its cheap drink and heavy dock-side patronage of pirates, fishermen, seafarers, dockhands and alike, the tavern is scarred from years of bar fights and drunken vandals. With a job on offer, do the eager adventurers dare take it on, or succumb with fear and leave?

This gripping and rewarding sixteen page adventure provides the needed prologue to the Lost Mine of Phandelver for Dungeon Masters and players who prefer a comprehensive introduction, or people new to Dungeons & Dragons.

It impressively expands on the Forgotten Realms’ Sword Coast regions along the High Road, Neverwinter, Helm’s Hold, and down to the Triboar Trail, before the Lost Mine of Phandelver adventure begins in earnest. For the more seasoned Dungeon Master, or someone willing to take on a DM role, this rewarding campaign cleverly allows you to continue with your own fun-packed adventure at its end.

This campaign is cleverly designed to provide an immersive experience for player characters and Dungeon Masters, while providing a wonderful and in-depth overview of the Sword Coast region.

Night of Deception.
It's a great 3 hour adventure set in Leilon, not far from Phandalver. This gripping and rewarding mini-adventure impressively expands upon the Sword Coast region of Leilon, only a few days' journey from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep. It can be enjoyed as a stand-alone or added to other campaigns set around the area. Designed to provide a captivating experience for players, when adventurers stumble into unknown cult activity, deception, ambushes, roleplaying and survival. The three-hour adventure requires more than strong sword arms and flashy spells.

This is a really well written start to the LMoP. It sets the scene in a realistic way. This is how I see a real adventure starting before the fight starts. I enjoyed the story, the hints it gives and the room to add and subtract depending on who I Dm [...]

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
