From the Journal of the Legendary Ranger and his Pet Hamster

A century has passed since the Bhaalspawn fought over the legacy of their father — Bhaal, the Lord of Murder. Two heroes witnessed the epic struggle firsthand — the ranger Minsc and his faithful companion, Boo.

Minsc and Boo were able to track down old friends and hated enemies and find out what they’ve been up to over the past century. They’ve compiled everything into this journal, edited by the traveler extraordinaire, Volo Geddarm.

Included in this journal are four cities, including Athkatla and Baldur’s Gate; ten group patrons led by some of Minsc and Boo’s old friends; a dozen new monsters; six arch villains and eleven dastardly henchmen.

Is there any way to update the product description to give a bit more detail?

I was searching for Knights of Bahamut and I couldn't remember where I saw them. Finally found them here, but having that in the product info would have helped.

Also good for SEO.

Is there a errata or FAQ? I've notice some abilities mentioned in the stat block but there are not actually in the stat block

I made a list of all the proofreading issues at the bottom of the review here https://dnddetective.com/2021/11/07/minsc-and-boos-journal-of-villainy-review-plus-a-list-of-all-the-proofreading-issues/

Any Chance to get an errata or clarification for page 101.
Any targets in the area of effect must make a DC 22 Dexterity check or take 22 (5d8) fire damage.
The damage is halved on a successful saving throw.

Is it a Dex Check or Dex Save? - Is this a typo

Yes its a typo. I wouldn't be holding out for any errata. It hasn't happened after almost a year and I think its pretty unlikely to happen.

I just realized this is filled with content repackaged from James Ohlen's "Heroes of Baldur's Gate" campaign module.

I received my Hardcover in the mail three days ago. A surprise last minute gift from my ultra-cool wife who sussed out that I really wanted this.

That said, I have had a good chance to read and digest some of the content.

It's a shame that this wasn't an "official" release. In that is was, but it is pretty much hidden from he general public as it is "buried" here. Most people won't find it.

It's an awesome book. And I'll say, the binding and overall presentation is top notch.

only one real unexpected discrepancy, it's slightly taller than the regular published books. Most people would probably not care, but... arrrrgh

on the lighter side, I'm not adding a few other books to my Wishlist, as I've now seen firsthand the quality of the PoD service. (and I'll need a few more "taller" books too balance out the collection.

Today was my first real chance to sit down and really really go through it with a fine tooth comb, and the first thing I noticed… A huge chip out of the front cover. Flipping through it before, and looking at the download that I had before may be really really like the book. But this big chip out of it just adds kind of a horrible feeling about adding This book to my collection amongst my other pristine books.

I’ve notified DM guild, Hopefully they reply

Yep. They haven't updated the PDF ever and the printed products are based off the PDFs.

Ouch. Maybe we should try contacting WotC customer support and see what they say about it…? They’re usually pretty good about these things. Maybe it would get them to update the PDF.

They will have to take all print options down for an extended period of time to fix the POD version, if I understand how it works correctly, so it's very unlikely that it has happened yet.

Yes but the maps for them have very scattered numbering. So it can be confusing to find places in their legends.

Has anyone with a POD tried contacting WotC customer service and seeing what they say about all the typos and issues? I’m trying to hold out on buying this but they’re really making it worse by not fixing them.

I don't understand why they won't update us on the book's state, or why they won't update the book. I'm holding out for a PoD copy but this is a big let-down. The content is great, but I've only grabbed the PDF for now.

They did the same with earlier DMsGuild exclusive products. Odds are, it's never going to be updated unfortunately.

DM's discretion aside, I'm playing a heavy Temple of Sune based adventure and noticed a Periapt of Health is only 100 gp from Tiberius (pg 44), whereas everywhere else it seems to be valued at least 5,000 to 7,500. Great discount!
Otherwise, an excellent compliment to my somewhat absurd adventure. Thanks and great job. Love that it helps Extra Life too!

It's an uncommon magic item. The DMG recommends these cost between 101-500 gold. Considering that it only works against disease (which might not even be featured in a campaign) I'd say it's a fair price.

On page 34 it specifies "Clerics (Nature Domain)" vs. other Clerics for Candlekeep. I'm guessing that's a copy & paste error from the Emerald Enclave, where it seems more appropriate?

For Candlekeep, if such a distinction is made at all, it seems like Knowledge Domain would be more appropriate to call out.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
