A Necromancer class option for the worlds greatest roleplaying game

Don't merely study the vast secrets of life and death, bring them under your command as a True Necromancer! Journey down the Path of Bone, Flesh, or Spirit, redirect the very essence of life from your enemies to your allies, and eventually learn to use your magic against the living (because, after all, inside every living person there’s a skeleton waiting to crawl out)!

With over 40 pages of content, including new monsters, foul magic items (including Soren’s Lantern from Dark Dice), and multiple quest-lines to pursue eternal life, you'll want a True Necromancer at your table as either player, ally, or villain!

Hello! I love the book and the flavor is fantastic!! I justed wanted to know for the bone worms cantrip is it a d6 of damage or d4? Because when I saw the rest of the damage increase it goes up by 1d6.

The fact that the full size preview shows the whole document is a nice touch, I'm looking through it right now and this is a great resource that I might just use at my table.

Super looking forward to playing this class! Question — am I understanding right that a Bone Death Beast must be Small/Medium and a Beast? If so, the highest such creature in the MM has CR 1, making it difficult to take advantage of the “CR <= level” rule. Is it possible to allow other sizes and/or creature types in a balanced way? Thanks!

Edit: I’ve just found the Monstrous Skeletons modification, so never mind! Will leave the comment for others to find though.

Hey Drake,
You can work on larger beasts by using the 'Skeletal Architect Modifications' 'Monstrous Skeletons' modification... Which I see you've found. Cheers and happy summoning!

This is a really cool book, and you deserve to be paid for the work, so you should know that the "full-size preview" on this page is the whole book with the word "sample file" pasted on each page.

Thanks John, but we intentionally allow for a full preview so people can see what they are getting before purchasing it, in the exact same way you'd be able to open a book in a book store.

Am I missing where it says how many undead servants a Necromancer can command at a time? If there's no limit, it's terrifying to pass this on to my players. Also, is the Conquer Death feature also Close to Death Improvement? I'm so sorry if I just missed this! Sweet class. Excited to use it, even if it's just for an NPC or two.

Call to Unlife - Page 10:
You are limited in your summons by your HD as you literally expend your life force to bring your servants to life (and cannot recover HD until you release them!). As a 1d4HP class, this is a big deal, as base servants are not particularly powerful on their own and are meant to augment the true necromancer.

Also Conquer Death =/= Close to Death. Close to death at lv 20 means you no longer age and have immunity to necrotic damage. It's in the entry for Close to Death.

The TN works really well with other player characters and functions really well as a support class too! I hope that you enjoy this, and also snuck in quite a few 'Dark Designs' specifically with thematic NPCs in mind!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
