Curse of Strahd - Village of Barovia - TaleSpire Edition

Suggested Price $0.99

Virtual Tabletop Journey presents the iconic Curse of Strahd - Village of Barovia recreated for use in TaleSpire! With only a few quick copy/pastes, your adventurers can start their investigation of locations in Barovia!

This book enhances the original Curse of Strahd module, which you will still need. If you are just starting your campaign, I also recommend getting a Guide to the Curse of Strahd campaign.

This book includes...

  • 6 revised location descriptions which accurately reflect terrain visible to players.
  • Details about the challenges of converting 2D maps to 3D.

An extremely detailed TaleSpire slab!

Hello, seems the two slab codes don't work. In the current talespire, posting the slab codes just states it is not a valid URI.

Ignore this. The game itself was acting buggy.

These look amazing! I'm going to run CoS in approximately 6 weeks and hopefully most or all of it on Tale Spire. Here is my question- I see you have the church included in the Village but also as a standalone item, are these two products identical? Second, I don't see Castle Ravenloft, is that coming down the pike? Will you be adapting all the maps? The Town of Vallaki, Argynvostholt, Krezk, Amber Temple etc, etc.? Basically I'm saying, here is my wallet, go nuts.

I'm glad you're excited! :D The village of Barovia and the church are two separate boards. The village is a scale board (4 to 1) that can be used while the party wanders around the town. The church is a 1 to 1 board, where each square is actually 5ft and it matches the original module map.

So far I've done the village, church, bonegrinder and Death House. Right now I'm finishing up the final touches on the Forge of Fury - Black Lake but my patrons will be voting soon to choose the next Curse of Strahd map, which I will start in July :D I'm going to limit the list to boards I think I can finish in a month. The castles' time will come ;)

Are you Tabletop Journey on Youtube? Been thinking very strongly about trying CoS as our tables first Talespire campaign. What is the best way to get every map available for the Hard cover? via Patreon? Or is the intent to have a bundle available somewhere when they are all complete?

I am indeed Virtual Tabletop Journey on YouTube :) I'm not certain what you mean by hard cover?

The easiest way to get my Talespire boards is to join Patreon, I have one post with quick access link to all the boards. Additionally, I offer board import URLs there (so you don't have to put the boards together yourself).

For a complete list of Curse of Strahd boards - /u/askull100 over on reddit created a thread for where to find them - https://www.reddit.com/r/talespire/comments/qj3t4e/ive_compiled_a_nearly_complete_curse_of_strahd/

I don't think other builders create the alternate description PDFs like I do, so you'll need to get those here.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
