Infiltration - A one-shot assassination story

ADD TO WISHLIST >

"Infiltration" is a D&D 5th Edition adventure featuring an undercover assassination attempt in a large manor. The adventure contains 7 pages of content and 2 detailed maps. It is expected to provide about 4-6 hours of play time for a party of 2 adventurers at level 3.

The Story

The 2 assassins managed to conceal their real identity. Today is their first day in the Oberon Manor, as butlers. Nobody suspects a thing. Oberon must die, and nobody shall know who is behind his death. It must either look like an accident, or a perfect framing scheme. No room for mistakes.

Do you think it would be possible to run this for a solo player, instead of a party of two?

Hi! First of - thank you for checking out the adventure. I think it is feasible to run for a solo player - the only risk I see, is that this removes a layer of tactics players may want to add to the game (scheming and distracting NPCs while the other is trying to achieve something). As the game is not combat focused, it should still work!

You may want to give them a Servant from the house who is willing to help out, to have that effect of having an ally during the game.

Hi! The idea is to use a 40 by 30 grid, and it will not fully line up just as you rightfully noticed - I had to sacrafice a bit of grid compatibility for accuracy of the building. When using the map, I either go gridless, using just measured distances on VTT (Roll20 in my case) or allow for players to use the half-squares in tight places (e.g. leaning to the wall). If that does not suit you - losing a bit of "realism" it is possible to use the map with 80 by 60 ratio - to have more full squares.

Would you be able to share a higher quality version of this map? Also I was thinking of using it in Foundry VTT with the props such as the cursed book or violin being movable. Not sure how to achieve that and I am a user of inkarnate to check.

Hi! In the publication I noted my contact details (1st page) we can use that to figure out the best solution for you. Happy to share a higher resolution version I don't think that is an issue! Regarding the movable objects - Inkarnate does not allow for them to be used separately - but maybe there is a way to replace/change them up.
Let me know if it's ok like this!

I have some confusion regarding the deity system used in the story. It has Pelor that is worshipped with music, the Great Paladin and Raven queen. Where can I find more information about them?

Hi, it is a work of fiction, that fit the map of the mansion that I created - not closely related to canon content of D&D. I am sorry if that causes any confusion.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
