Purchased by my FLGS for me to run. My players loved the interactions between Old Goat and Spearsong, and had a blast with Clod.

As part of the larger storyline this was a fun way to introduce Wyrmdoom Crag and the Goliaths earlier. I liked sending my table over to meet the Goliaths in Tier 1 so they can have adventures in the future in Tier 2.

However by and large the module felt like a lot of filler. The goat herding and catching was fun, and the module kept teasing Frost Claw, I wish she had made a more impactful appearance. Even if it's just Frostclaw declaring war and sicking the wolves on the party or something to cover her retreat it felt unsatisfying to my players to keep having her teased and not show up. This is especially true now that we have played DDAL10-03, the party has gotten a bit burned out on not interacting with Frostclaw after their wonderful time with her in DDAL10-01.

That said, I did like the build up and reveal for Feral Tongue, I'm hoping that has more impact in future modules, and the river fight and interactions between Old Goat and the Windsinger were fun.

The players help out the Thuunlakagla clan, who needs help investigating a series of mysterious events near their town.

The goat named Honey is a highlight for me.

Personally, I prefer to run this series in the order 01, 03, 02, 04, 05. The player characters are more invested and willing to milk goats for the goliaths if you do chapter 03 first. These modules are very modular in that way- run any of these 4 chapters in whatever order as player or GM before the finale in 05

I was disappointed with this adventure. I felt complete lack of investment the entire time. Much of the adventure felt like filler side quests. The opening scene has some charm and I had positive expectations, but after that it was all downhill. This adventure is another in a series of fetch quests that has been basically the entirety of season 10 so far. I sincerely hope that future adventures more fully embrace the bleak setting of Icewind Dale.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
