DC-PoA-MCIW-01 Icewind Whale

A sudden break in the sea ice has freed the remains of a sperm whale that perished while trapped in the ice. For those that earn their living on the Sea of Moving Ice this is a welcomed sight and they'll need all the help they can get to harvest it before the polar bears find it.

Icewind Whale is a 2-hour Icewind Dale adventure for characters level 1-4.

This is a Dungeoncraft Adventure that uses the "Breaking Ice-olation" adventure seed and is Adventurers League legal as part of the Season 10- Plague of Ancients campaign.

I got to play this in it's very first iteration as a playtest and really enjoyed how it combines adventure with "slice-of-life" in Icewind Dale. It's a perfect addition to broaden any Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign and get charact [...]

I had a good game running this. We had only three players, which made combat really difficult, but also made the rest of the sections really smooth. This is a light-hearted adventure with low-stakes and many opportunities for evocative or amusin [...]

For a two hour module it fit the bill with only a minor hiccup - The DC for the physical tasks was far too high for the party I had (mostly dex-based fighters and mages) even with all of the NPCs helping it was tough to make enough successes. It took [...]

I checked this one out and I've just finished running it with a very weak party (3 players APL 2) Overall, I really enjoyed it. The premise was very unique, I doubt any of my players have tried an adventure with this subject matter. [...]

I bought this module because of the theme and the details, and I was not disappointed! It’s packed with real-life information on whales and whaling. The module is also whimsy and have some random interactions which are fun to explore. With a [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
