I love what I'm seeing in the range of enchantments, but I do have a question about rarity.
All the tables about combining enchantments show 3 Rare enchantments creating a Very Rare item. But some of the pregenerated items are listed as Legendary. At what level of enchanting does an item cross from Very Rare to Legendary using these rules?

Hi Stephen

When they go beyond 3 enchantments, such as by having additional enchantments (Common, Sentient, etc.) or by having a flat bonus such as +1 to attack and damage and the like :)

Best regards,

J. A. Valeur

Does this Tome include rules on how a player could learn to enchant and do the enchanting themselves?

If it doesn't, do you know of any good resources that provide a system for players to enchant that would work well with this tome?

Thank you.

I'm really liking the handout generator; any chance the item images are available too?

Hi Sheldon!

I can't send most of the images with the download, as I don't have full rights of distribution. I am, however, working on a project that'll take the item card generator to the next level and make inserting and using images very easy. I can't say much more about it at present, but I'll make an announcement on our mailing list (https://mailchi.mp/1f291d8096c1/eventyrnewsletter) when it's ready to launch! :)

Best regards,

Hi I am using adobe reader as instructed, but I am unable to change what card im editing, it only lets me edit the first card. I have tried all three versions of the pdf and none allow me to do this, do you have some suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi James

That is odd. In v. 1.3, are you clicking on the number above the card?

If the issue persists, try and hit CTRL + J while in the document, which opens up the Javascript Console, and then try to change card (by clicking on the number above it). If there's an error, it should say so in the console window. If you can let me know what it says, I may have a better idea about what's going wrong. You can send it here or at jvaleur@eventyrgames.com :)

I'm certain we'll get it to work, so thanks a lot for your patience!

Best regards,

J. A. Valeur

Thanks for your reply. I just tried to click the number in v 1.3 and the error was "5154:Document-Level:init
TypeError: savedCard is undefined"

Hi James

Thanks for your reply :)

I know what the error is – it seems to be a corrupted save (which can happen in rare circumstances, such as when switching from one version of the sheet to another). I'll upload a hotfix within 24 hours that should let you reset all your savefiles and get the sheet working again. I'll let you know here when it's up :)

Best regards,

J. A. Valeur

Hi James

I've now done a complete overhaul of the save/load system (each time you change card, the file saves the previous card and loads values for the new card) in a way I think should solve your issue – and make the sheet run faster as well.

Try and download v. 1.4 of the sheet and see if that fixes your issue. If not, or if you run into other issues, let me know here or at jvaleur@eventyrgames.com and I'll do my utmost to get you back up and running ASAP.

Thanks again for your kind and constructive feedback – and sorry for the inconvenience! :)

Best regards,

J. A. Valeur

Is there plans to offer this as a Fantasy Grounds module? I have the Enchanted Weapons Fantasy Grounds mod and love it. I only run games through Fantasy Grounds so I am highly interested in having a conversion of this.

Hi Richard!

Sorry for not getting back to you on your last post. I would be very interested in making a FG conversion of this. We're looking into whether or not making a FG conversion is feasible, and if anyone is willing to do it. I'll get back to you here once I know more! :)

Best regards,

Joined as Rzach#1855,
Very interested in this release. I already have the Nybor's weapon book for Fantasy Grounds. This new one is possibly the most excited I have been for a 5e product for FG.

Does this have Nybor's Tome of Enchanted Wonders in it or do you get something different from buying both?

Hi Nick!

It contains everything you'd find in Nybor's Tome of Enchanted Wonders as well. The only difference is that here, all three tomes (Armor, Weapons, and Wonders) have been combined into a single document, so any crossover content (enchantments that fit multiple types of items, the guide to enchanting, etc.) aren't repeated. You simply have everything available to you in one PDF instead of having to look through three different ones – if that makes sense :)

Best regards,

J. A. Valeur

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
