@CurseofSebs says:

"From the shining example of festive cheer that is the electrum dragon, Santa Claus and white elephant to the unholy humbugs of the gilded treant, grumbler and Krampus, and the queen of the in between, Jacquie Frost, this is a supplement filled with the spirit of the season! The tongue-in-cheek Holiday cheer will be enforced by the snowman-at-arms if necessary! With such thoughtful and fun hooks as gift-wrapping presents for a demanding dragon, an incongruous team up with Krampus to save Santa Claus or wrangling or even redeeming unruly Yule lads, rich and creamy lore and truly gorgeous and playful artwork this is truly the gift that keeps on giving!"

Fantastic job!! Almost every DM I know (myself included) loves to run holiday one-shots, and the beasts in here are enough to last the better part of a decade!!

I think my favorite character is the Gilded Treant. It's a really fun concept, and I love that it isn't just a jolly old tree in the holiday spirit. Who knew a Christmas tree could catch Dragon Greed (Yes, I'm a total LOTR nerd)? I'm thinking of doing a crossover with the first or second adventure hook and The Lord of the Rings where either Sauron or Sarumon has cursed Treebeard.

Does anybody have suggestions for some mods I could make to the Shower of Ornaments table to turn up the LOTR factor without losing the Christmas vibe?

I recommend reskinning some of the existing ornaments, such as a painted figurine of The Grumbler with a painted figurine of Smaug and other famous/notorious Lotr characters in place of the trinkets that reference the christmas characters. You should also add a "mysterious ring with elvish inscriptions" that actually mean nothing and are silly gibberish.

probably more popular folk legends, like tom bombadil then dire and foul legends like sauron though

My favorite monster is definitely the snowman at-arms! I'm thinking of incorporating them into a Christmas campaign I had been planning before where Santa became cursed by a an evil sorcerer who had received coal the previous Christmas. The curse turned Santa evil causing him to wage a war of holiday cheer, and I hadn't chosen what his army was comprised of yet - now I have the perfect answer! Snowmen at-arms!

Excellent! We designed the snowmen to be good low cr grunts. After all, it would be way too brutal to face an army of gilded treants or krampuses.

That's awesome! I feel like they can be deceptively powerful in groups, and especially if a DM takes advantage of their terrain and snowball abilities - makes it really hard for a party to advance and close the gap.

Right? Plus, it's just fun to imagine an army of snowmen gliding over the snow and ice as they pummel you with snowballs. It's the ultimate snowball fight!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
