2Strahd.jpg

Waking up in the picturesque village of Mordentshire-by-the-Sea was just the beginning. Your fever seems to have gone. But this only leaves you with more questions. The answers you are assured hide in Griffon Hill Manor, home of Count Strahd von Zarovich.

This expansive adventure of mystery, investigation, and the supernatural is best played with a group of 4-6 characters of level 7-12 (optimized for level 9s).

A major expansion and re-telling of I10 - Ravenloft II: House on Gryphon Hill.

Is there any chance for a PoD version of this?

Eventually, yes. However, the DMsGuild will only allow PoD for Platinum and higher best-sellers. It is making its way there...

Does this conversion / expansion 'fix' some of the weirdness of I10, and make it more of a sequel of sorts for Curse of Strahd, or is it more of an update to I10?
I'm mostly curious if it's playable for the same group of players without feeling like a 'retcon' of CoS the way I10 does for I6.
But also, I10 seemed like it was impossible for players to really figure out what is going on - is that addressed much here?
Thanks!

It is the intention on all those accounts.

Griffon Hill Manor was designed as a sequel for CoS and be more streamlined than I10. However, a player who did not play CoS can easily follow up. My play-testers figured out the plot of what was going on and though they were confused for a while, this confusion was never driven by the question "What do we do now?" but rather "Which of these do we do first?"

Your concerns about how impossible to play/gm I10 was were my #1 concern. Now, in fairness, this still requires preparation to run - there are many threads to deal with but once the PCs start to identify them, it unwinds pretty nicely.

I ran the adventure with a oneiric quality that forced the players to ask "What is real?"

The conclusion was completely redone and will reward those players who played CoS making the experience "more of a sequel"

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
