"There’s something about Gildemyn’s writing that makes it clear they have autopsied, exorcised, exhumed and reanimated this game. From start to finish they write with an incredible amount of care, forbidden knowledge and dark dedication far beyond what is often seen." "...including what might just be the definitive Death Knight..." -- Curse of Sebs, ttrpg reviewer

Soth's Accursed Journal is BookBrewGames' (Matthias Gildemyn & Jan Sempels) ambitious debut work and the result of almost three years of work, expanding on the D&D 5e core rulebooks and supplements.

This sourcebook is a trove of hidden knowledge, gathered by Lord Soth himself during his many years as ruler of Sithicus. Stolen by his treasonous Seneschal, Azrael the Werebadger, it has seen many owners, all of them pursued by Lord Soth and his many enemies in order to retrieve this valuable collection of secrets. Featuring commentary by both Lord Soth and Azrael, it details several new character options designed for - but not limited to - the Ravenloft setting, such as new subclasses, new spells, new feats, new magic items, 3 new classes (The Death Knight, The Elementalist, and The Monstral), and more!

In this expansive sourcebook filled with colored art, you will find:

- 12 new subclasses

  • Barbarian Path of Focused Fury
  • Bard College of Faith
  • Cleric Undead Domain
  • Druid Circle of Water
  • Fighter Duelist
  • Monk Forbidden Way
  • Paladin Oath of Protection
  • Ranger Elemental Archer
  • Rogue Toxicologist
  • Sorcerer Temporal Magic
  • Warlock The Legion
  • Wizard Telepath

- 3 new classes:

  • The Death Knight
  • The Elementalist
  • The Monstral

- 30+ new feats (including 20+ new racial feats)

- 8 new spells

- 16 new magic items

- spells revised and variant rules

- advice on roleplaying an evil character

Update v1.03
- Some last balance changes, changing the 13th level feature of the Death Knight's Swearing Spirit archetype

Update v1.04
- Changed the new cantrips and their wording to be more in line with the errata of booming blade and green-flame blade in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything

- Ice lance now requires a reach weapon as a material component

- Corrected some typo's

- Fixed the 'Feats' link

Update v1.05
- Fixed layout error in Death Knight spell list

- Clarified ice lance's wording and added that the speed reduction lasts until the start of your next turn.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
