Rime of the Frostmaiden Companion - The Complete Edition

From the author of the best-selling Dungeon of the Mad Mage Companion:

Everything You Need to Run Rime of the Frostmaiden and More!

Total Price: $17.70 $9.95 (45% DISCOUNT!)

This bundle contains all seven chapters of the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Companion, the best-selling supplement devoted to enhancing and streamlining your campaign. By purchasing this product, you save 45% ($7.75)! This supplemenet includes:

  • PDF & Printer Friendly. The 192 page supplement comes with a fully bookmarked PDF and a printer-friendly file so you can print out sections as you need!
  • DM Notes. Notes including but not limited to spicing up the region with valuable roleplay with select NPCs, things to watch out for, and related content that you'll need to be aware of. It also includes sample dialogue, more read-aloud text, and tactics for battles.
  • Variants Galore. Countless variants have been provided, in case you disagree with how a certain section plays out. The Companion heavily revises Chapters 3 and 4 of Rime of the Frostmaiden, thereby presenting you more options.
  • Areas of Note. Notes, room descriptions, scenes, and scripts for the various areas of the adventure.
  • Magic Item Descriptions. Save yourself the time of digging through the Dungeon Master's Guide to determine how the magic items in this campaign work. The appendix also lists the area and chapter the item is found. (Rime of the Frostmaiden-exclusive items are not included, per DMs Guild licensing policy.)
  • Monster Stats. Time is precious, and matters all the more in combat. Appendix B has the statistics for the creatures used throughout the campaign (with exception to Rime of the Frostmaiden-exclusive creatures, per DMs Guild licensing policy)!
  • Effects. Spare yourself the time of looking up the details of brown mold or extreme cold; effects that routinely crop up in the adventure have been summarized in Appendix C.

Need more of a glimpse? Check out a few of the pages below:

1. Ten bucks? Are you mad?

By purchasing in bulk, you save 45% (a whole whopping $7.75), as well as countless hours of prep-work you would've already had to have done before your session.

2. What's the difference between the Complete Edition and its constituent parts?

Nothing! You miss out on nothing by buying in bulk, but you have everything to gain!

3. What if I've already bought some chapters?

If you've already supported the Companion thus far, you can still get in on this discount through the following bundle, which contains all seven chapters for a reduced price! The prices of any products you've purchased already are deducted from the total!

4. Does this product replace Rime of the Frostmaiden?

No, you will still require the sourcebook to run the adventure and access its many new additions to 5th Edition. The supplement adds and enhances; it does not replace core manuals.

I just finished DMing a full run through of Frostmaiden. I found this collection invaluable in helping to flesh out the adventure. Many excellent ideas.

The Black Swords' Quick Notes' Summary matches the Foaming Mugs' Quick Notes' Summary.

Staples refused to print this due to the Wizards of the Coast copyright on page 2. Are you from Wizards of the Coast? They said I need written permission from Wizards of the Coast now to get it printed. I don't want to use my computer to run the game. It's even more expensive to print it myself. I sent them the printer friendly version.

Yes, Wizards of the Coast also got back to me with a link to send them explaining why I can have what I send to them printed.

I appreciate your effort in creating this material! I was skimming through it and I noticed one common grammatical issue that I would bet occurs more than once. On page 73, the TOC for Chapter 4, "...namely, it's travel times..." This is a possessive its, with no apostrophe.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
