Annalyse's Revenge - Adventure

Annalyse Penn plotted revenge for those responsible for destroying her lover Jack von Zarovich – also known as Happy Jack. During her grief, she was guided by a group of demons known as the Quartet. These demons took her to the Lavolion Theater as a venue to stage her revenge. She joined the theater as a dancer, then slowly let the Quartet demons manipulate the place, eventually twisting the world into creating a dark reflection of the Lavolion that lurked in a parallel Abyssal plane beneath the theater. When Annalyse and their demented planar theater were ready, the Quartet advertised a show: Revenge, a Tragedy in Two Acts, by Annalyse Penn. People came to see the show, then never returned home.

The Quartet tore a hole in the Material plane, creating an exact copy of the Lavolion. The duplicate Lavolion emerged during the most recent show at the opera house, and the Quartet trapped the patrons in this nightmare playground world based on Annalyse’s grief. Annalyse is trapped as well, the Quartet having used her to the point where they consider her a discarded, broken toy.

Though Annalyse’s Revenge is a follow up adventure to Happy Jack’s Funhouse, and has ties to The Madhouse of Tasha’s Kiss, you do not have to have run those adventures to run Annalyse’s Revenge. The adventure includes options to run it as a standalone one-shot. Playtime is roughly 3 to 5 hours.

Designed for four to five characters of levels 4th through 8th. Optimized for a party of five characters with an average party level of 6.

Content Warning: blood, burn victims, cutting, gore, goats, self-harm, teeth

This is a gruesome adventure which some players may find problematic. Please consider your players’ preferences and triggers before running this adventure.

I ran Tasha’s Kiss twice and had a lot of fun with it. I just got Happy Jack’s Funhouse and I plan on also running that twice. I admittedly haven’t read this all the way through but I’m wondering if you have any suggestions for running this at level 10 or higher since I’m going to be running Happy Jack’s at level 10 so that I can just transition into this. Thanks

Let me work on this. I'll try to upload a separate document with high-level scaling suggestions in a few days.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
