Just purchased Ten-Towns DMs resource. The font is too small. I printed it out and the font is like a size 8. This is almost unusable. There are box text I'm supposed to read and typically I like to be able to do so in a way where I'm glancing down every once an while at the page but then looking up at the players. With this format it is impossible. I literally have to hunch over or bring it close to my eyes and just read it with my head down or with the paper right in front of my face.

Any way you can shoot me over a word doc of the DMs Notes and the Ten Towns main doc so I can scale it properly?

A few things I've run into so far:

Page 13 - Good Mead is missing the headline "Good Mead" like the other towns. Also on that page, it's supposed to be an Ogre, not an Ogre Zombie (but it seems that the stats are the correct stats for Ogre, still).

Easthaven Toil and Trouble is missing the two Harpies.

Easthaven Town Hall Capers is missing the headline, like the other two Easthaven bits.

Hi Martin!

Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to post this. The mistakes are embarassing, so I'm happy for the opportunity to get them fixed (you can expect a reupload in not too long)! :)

I purchased all of the Frostmaiden content for the campaign. I have a question about the maps. I want to print them out for my in-person group. If I take it to a print shop, what dimensions do I tell them to print at? Or are these intended for just online platforms? Thanks for the help! Great product. I appreciate all of your hard work.

Hi Ruben!

Thanks so much for the kind words!

We actually have a printing guide for exactly this purpose – but have for some reason forgotten to include it with this download. I've fixed that now – you can find it in your download if you check 'Account' -> 'Updated Titles'. You can also find the guide on our webpage here: https://eventyrgames.com/2020/01/20/guide-how-to-print-encounter-maps-free-elfsong-tavern-map/

Note that this isn't a guide for how to get it at a shop, but how to print it on A4 (or letter) paper at home :)

If you're taking it to a printing shop, you can find the map's dimension in its filename (i.e. Easthaven Ferry 20x20). So if you were to take it to a print shop, you would ask them to print it out as 20 by 20 inches or (roughly) 50 by 50 centimeters, if using Metric measurements. You can of course do smaller squares (I usually find that 80% or 2 cm squares can work fine in a pinch) to reduce printing cost and map size.

Thank you for the work you put into this, its already been super helpful but I just had one question; is there a reason the frost giant skeleton is a problem for players in the Toil and Trouble quest? In the book it says the thing cant even attack until the turn after it breaks free. That would mean the players get 2 free rounds at advantage to damage it and another full round where its free before it gets to attack at initiative count 0.

Hi Drew!

I don't think I've written anywhere that the frost giant skeleton would be an issue – in fact, I suggest the that you allow it to act a turn sooner if you want to challenge a party of 3rd-level characters. As written, it is unlikely it will get a turn at all – which is probably for the better, because a Cold Stare or two of its greataxe attacks would be enough to end a 2nd-level adventurer's career early! ;)

On page 15, was Targos left out of the difficulty summary intentionally?

Does your pdf have a section on Kelvin's Cairn? I need maps of the layout and room descriptions. The party I DM for wants to explore it and restore the forge for crafting upgrades to their armor and weapons.

Hi David!

That sounds awesome. Unfortunately it doesn't, but that sounds like a really good idea for some content that would come in handy. We will definitely look into that! :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
