Hi Ernie, just bought these maps today, very nice looking work, however I was uploading the gridded version of the Halls of the Upper Priesthood on to Roll 20 and noticed that the Ungridded version has the sarcophagi on it and the Gridded version does not.Is there anyway to get a Gridded version with the sarcophagi?

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for letting me know about the issue. I would be happy to take care of this. As soon as I have access to my files I will revise the map and upload a new copy. I will post again as soon as this is done.

Thanks,

Ernie

Hello Byrom,

Thanks again for letting me know about this issue. It has been corrected and an updated copy of the map has been uploaded. Also sorry for either misreading or mistyping your name earlier. Apologies for that. (I blame autocorrect on my phone... lol). I truly appreciate you letting me know there was a problem.

Take care and happy gaming.

The maps look great, but all of the ones that are marked "no grid" are the same as the ones marked "grid" as far as I can tell. They all have grid lines on them. :-/

Hi John,

I am glad you like the maps. When building most of the maps for the Desert of Desolation Series, I selected a 5' by 5' brick (I like the look of this tile), so this can look like a grid, but the grid setting is indeed turned off. Take a look at "The Temple" or "The Halls of Upper Priesthood" The exterior area of the temple map has no grid, nor does the filled-in wall areas. In the Halls of Upper Priesthood, the cave section has no grid nor the filled-in wall areas. Any map with water has no grid on the water. The particular tile I used has a lot of cracks and wear, which I really liked for the ancient ruined look I was trying to achieve. Hope you are able to get some good use out of the maps.

Thank you again.

Ernie

These are excellent! I wish I saw these before I spent countless hours modifying and searching for maps to use on my VTT. Nonetheless, it will be worth using these!

Thanks Joel, I appreciate the kind words. I am very glad you found the maps helpful. I used them recently when I ran Pharoah through Roll 20. I have the rest of the desert of desolation series converted, as well as other classic modules. https://www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?keywords=Ernie+Noa&x=0&y=0&author=&artist=&pfrom=&pto=

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
