Is there a grid size in squares for each map? The Salvation map is huge (awesome) but I'd rather not try to count the squares by hand.

Hi David,

The Salvation (The Breach) map should be 133x89. I've updated the maps for the most recent storyline (EB-11, EB-12 and EB-13) to include a square count within the sizing grid, and will be updating maps from previous releases to include this at some point.

Thank you for adding the square count, Sean! It's a big help for aligning in R20. Love your maps!

Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to make the maps less than 10 MB in size? Roll 20 doesn't accept uploads greater than 10MB.

Hi Zack,

If you use the files with 35 at the end of their name, these are lower res but come in at less than 10Mb.

These maps are fantastic! Do you guys have any plans to make maps for the new season 10 Icewind Dale adventures as well? I think there'd be a lot of interest in that as well.

Hi Mitchell,

I’ve not actually seen any of the published maps for the official season 10 content. How are they? Do they need decent battle maps or are they pretty good already?

I haven't seen the maps for 10-01 yet, but 10-00 just had a couple of black and white maps for the dm, much like the ones provided in the oracle of war modules.

Yeah, 10-01 also just has the hand-drawn style black and white maps for the DM

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
