Hell Prisons

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Welcome to an infernal dungeon run by fiends!

The devils are trying to tip the scales of the Blood War by establishing soul conversion facilities. These terrifying prisons are used to torment souls with an intention of creating more powerful devils and filling the battlegrounds of Avernus with powerful soldiers. Only brave adventurers can disrupt this horrifying scheme.

The supplement includes:

• Lore about how hell prisons are established and function.

• Advice for the Dungeon Master how to run adventures within a hell prison, including a ready made 3-level dungeon for characters level 5-10.

• 19 detailed chambers for use in the hell prison or to be dropped into existing dungeons.

• 3 new monsters - Hell Warden, Infernal Cook and a Steam Elemental.

If you are curious about the quality of the product, check out the free supplement - The Abbot Reimagined.

"But even without that, this is a really great little book that crams a ton of utility and reusability between its covers." - The Alexandrian (https://thealexandrian.net/wordpress/46209/roleplaying-games/remixing-avernus-addendum-dms-guild-capsule-reviews-iv)

"This adventure does that, and that’s what I mean by “Great Room Concepts.” It’s taking things we recognize of bureaucracy and power and just pushing it a little bit more, and adding Devils and Hell to it." - tenfootpole (https://tenfootpole.org/ironspike/?p=6896)

Hello! Are there any plans to convert this to a Fantasy Grounds module? I would be willing to pay a premium for this. :)

Great content!

Hey Jonathan,
Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with Fantasy Grounds, so it's very unlikely. Would the high res images of maps used in the module be helpful to you? I can make these available.
Cheers,

Yeah absolutely, you can also find module creators more than willing to convert the PDF over to FG. Thanks for your reply!

There is an update that says Full Color Maps. The preview shows black and white maps in the module. Would it be possible to add previews of these color maps?

Hi Daniel!

The preview shows drawings of individual rooms, rather than the maps of the whole level. Here is a sample of a full-color level: https://i.ibb.co/KqR8G37/level-1-dd.png The remaining 4 are in the same style.

Reading through this now and I wanted to know how you intend us to adjust the level. I have a group of level 5s. On page 8 you have random encounters from Easy to Very Hard but what's the approximate CR? So far, I LOVE the concepts and ideas in here. I think an edit may be worthwhile but it's really a lot of fun and thought out. I think some of the wording could be tightened up. Review after I run this this weekend. :)

Hi Stephen!

Please take a look at the Scaling section in the Introduction. If you have a group of level 5 adventurers, you probably want to use Very Easy encounters and room scaling. If you party is large and/or very well optimized, you might want to use Easy. Also, if they are breezing through encounters as you go, you can dynamically adjust (and for example start rolling on Normal difficulty encounter table).

Thanks for the feedback, when I have some time I intend to review the wording in some descriptions and will try to tighten the boxed texts.

Hi Melissa! It's intended for levels 5-10 and has scaling rules for adjusting the difficulty based on the party level.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
