I see the map is the standard Xen'drik map with a hex overlaid. Have you determined actual hex sizes? Distance to opposite face, etc.

Thanks for responding. First, Xen'drik is massive compared to Chult. You can see on the map's mileage key that each hex represents about 100 miles of distance. While that is technically canon, Keith Baker has stated numerous times that the official distances used on the Eberron maps when the campaign setting first came out were blown up by about a factor of 10. As a result, it would take weeks to get between countries, even aboard the lightning rails. That was never the intent of the setting and early on, Keith encouraged people to reduce the distances by a factor of 10.

Keeping that in mind, I added the hex grid assuming that each one is about 10 miles across, just like in the Tomb of Annihilation adventure module. I then used the rules presented in the Tomb of Annihilation to determine travel time.

"On the map of Chult, each hex measures 10 miles across. Characters moving at a normal pace can travel 1 hex per day on foot through coastal, jungle, mountain, swamp, or wasteland terrain....See more

I'm intrigued by this but notice the description looks awfully similar to your other "Eberron Guide to Tomb of Annihilation" - could you break down the differences between the two in a little more detail for us?

Hey Daniel,

These are additional adventures to the ones presented in Eberron Guide to Tomb of Annihilation. I have updated the descriptions of both products to make that a little more clear. You can read the previews of both to get a sense of what's in each product.

There is one monster that both supplements share: The Giant Animated Statue. Other than that, they are completely different products.

If you only want to download one, I would recommend Eberron Guide to Tomb of Annihilation. That supplement has a lot of information about how to convert the history of the tomb and the names of the different countries, locations, and factions from Forgotten Realms to Eberron. If you already have that product and want a little more, this is a great addition.

I hope that helps. Take care. :-)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
